What would be the point of fabricating your BASE numbers? So you can get your "D-license" for BASE quicker? Or so you can seem like the dumbass that claims he has 100 BASE jumps in something so inherently dangerous and not take advantage of the experienced BASE jumpers that would otherwise be willing to help you? Here is an idea, if you have 50 skydives, pencil-whip your skydive logbook so it says that you have 500+, and then try to impress everyone at the DZ with your Sabre 210, lack of swooping, no RW or freefly skills, and non-understanding of simple skydiving principals (even offer to help people with 50 jumps), but show them your "D-license" number!!! ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

It ended at $231,000... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1871775187 ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

Am I the only person reading this post thinking that this turbo costs a lot of jump tickets??? ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

As far as that Tad's place goes, if the US-Australian exchange is about 2-1, why are their prices for USDs almost the same as Australian? ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

My friend just got his Kurupee, and it was WAY too big, and had to send it to a seamstress just so he could jump it... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

But I think on the 120, with the Generation Freefly .3, the infinity lock doesn't work right... Somehow, ??? ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

Wasn't that three-chip the really big, $3000 ones? ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

Here is another question for those familiar with the PC120. I use a PC9, and just set the focus on infinity (the little mountains), and I'm good to go. It seems a little more complicated to lock the focus on infinity, when you get the infinity symbol and the mountains, the video of the jump doesn't work out quite right. Those of you with the 120, what do you do for the focus?? ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

Agreed, and well said. I know that the PC9 is old-school today, there are much better, etc... But every time I look at the DV video, it amazes me how clear and sharp everything is... I agree that you can take IMAX video and it will look the same as the PC9 video after you put it onto VHS tape... But those of us in this room love our video toys, and when there is something better, we want it... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

Ok all you Whiskey Drinkers i have a question for you.

Besides, Budeweiser put the words "King Of Beers" on their labels, do you believe that as well? Have you read the rest of that? It says something like "We know of no other beer in the world that costs so much to produce, and requires so much care to make..." ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad...... -
I know on the F-4 Phantom, the pilot had a knob with two positions. One that would get them both out, one that would work individually. ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

Anyone have problems with Premiere???
konradptr replied to konradptr's topic in Photography and Video
Cool, we'll try the defrag idea. In fact, it's working in the background. Its a new computer, only 2-3 weeks old, but who knows. I have 40GB inside, only using ~15GB, and a Firewire 120GB. I put all the DV files in the Firewire HD, and then when I made up the final .avi, I put that on my internal drive and tried it from there. Problem is that with only one Firewire port, I can either plug the camera in, or the external HD. Another thing that is worth noting is that it seemed to goof up at around the same time using both programs... I have another computer coming, identical to this one to see if the problem is with the computer. Simply, how do I go about putting a partition in the internal hard drive. Unfortunately, I barely know what partitioning a HD is, so that isn't helping, but would I have to format it and stuff, or can I just assign a couple (3-5GB) to put the finished .avi into for the export? Thanks again, ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad...... -
Anyone have problems with Premiere???
konradptr replied to konradptr's topic in Photography and Video
So the problems continue. I can monkey around and edit everything that I want, and I think it looks about as good as I want. Same export problems in Premiere, inserts 1-2 second long screens of blue and gray, about every 50 seconds... Not very professional looking. So I figured I would save it as a .avi file, complete, and then try to send it out... Same problem... So now that I have the .avi file, I tried sending it out in Pinnacle Studio, thinking that Premiere sucks with this chipset or whatever, and didn't have any more luck than with Premiere. So now I am pointing the finger at the piece of crap Dell 8200 that I just bought, since it causes problems with everything else... Why can't this be easy??? Any ideas??? ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad...... -
Chile, I think you are misunderstanding this whole fall rate thing. The 120 is the average fall fate for an arch. And 24*5 isn't survivable. However, if you cup some air and de-arch, you might be able to get 110mph. (110/5)=22mph. 22 IS survivable... Remember to de-arch!!! ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

How are you going to jump with that??? ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

I'm in grad school, again, and trying not to spend any money other than what I need to so I can not have to worry about the important things, like jumps and jump money... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

I think the thing to remember is just go limp right before you hit... I actually saw something on the discovery channel about cats that fell out of high-rise apartments in NYC. Seems that more survive the fall from above 5 floors, because they are relaxed when they hit... Lesson for today, turn off the Cypres, and just be relaxed when you hit... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

Yea, my one-jump-wonder ex-girlfriend told me about that, and I told her they were trying to take the dog away and file charges against him. (I couldn't remember if it was a post, or a news article that suggested that). She thought it was stupid, since the dog comes running with his tail wagging when he finds out he gets to jump... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

Yea, I remember seeing this in Popular Science (or Popular Mechanics). Can't wait until everyone has their own, since people are such great drivers on the streets already. And just wait until people try flying this thing while putting on make-up, etc, and even better, after a couple beers... Isn't technology wonderful? ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......
