Ive been using 32s and 38s with a small mesh slider for the past 2 weeks for delays between 9- 14 sec Ive packed basically the same on every jump. roll the 3 end cells about 3 times, wrap the nose barely around the edge of the canopy pull the apex of the cell up, fold, and close. for the most part the openings have been excellent, over 90% on heading performance, only 2 less than 90 off headings, brisk but not hard openings, except for 2 jumps, Im pretty sure this is due to not having the primary stow tight against the slider grommets. as far as pc size both are zp av from asylum, both had good performance and the difference was very small.

yea , hehe, and seeing all the possiblitys that wingsuits create, amazing.. but wouldnt more glide be desirable skydiving as well?? There probably aren t to many baser that need more glide to survive, how about more glide to out fly 10 ledgesinsted of 5, or lets fly around that knob, rather than pull at the base of it?

I don t disagree. the wingsuits aavailable are doing amzing thing with the pilots who are flying them. your right, I am not thinking about flocking , there are many visions of wingsuit flying, and room for all of them. just wanted to explore some of the possibilitys...

sure, I just thought telling me if I wanted to fly with rigid wing (which is not what I meant) go fly a plane and leave the human flight boundaries to wingsuit pilots was a little funny considering we jump out of planes. But anway, I was hoping to get some ideas on creating higher performance wingsuits by using rigid materials in the cuurent design..body as airframe. Integrating them into the design as to not hinder movement or ability to shut the wing down.

so why not collapsible rigid or semi rigid wings?
-
hmmm, I said rigid parts in wings suits. Such as ribs, maybe hard top surfaces? And I get all this hostility about thats not pure wingsuiting? I am not talking about fixed wings on your back, I m talking about the improvement of wingsuits.. And whats with the mortals comment? pretty pretentous for someone who jumps out of a plane,,,

thats only a bonus

headed there friday, anyone else?

just 3 jumpers in the valley right now. pretty slow. weather was crap the last few days but managed to get a few in. today is nice.
-
yeah, why explore more efficient materials, that doesnt make any sense? how would using rigid parts in a wingsuit change that your flying yourself?
-
any pictures of the stingray? Any ideas for something a little more convenient?
-
any body have any prototypes for rigid or semi rigid wings?

Marty will put dynamic corners on the pro if you ask for it.

be sure to keep this incident in your thoughts, while there are many talented jumpers at lodi, they don't pay much attention to exit order or jumper seperation sometimes. There was a fatality about 3 years ago when 2 inexperienced jumpers had a freefall-canopy colision. There's alot of good information in the safety section. Have fun with the course!

people talk about how short the jump lasts, but to me that little leap we take is to step out of time. If it's a 1 sec. delay or a 13 sec. , it's a glimpse into the eternal, and being able to bring a little bit back with me every time. After every jump I feel more aware of my surroundings, my life slows down and whats important becomes more apparent.

you'all hear about the 3 paragliders being busted last year for kiting in toulome meadows? apparently getting three feet off the ground is aerial delivery. they'd probably bust 200 people packing just the same.
-
I think I'll be there around that time.
-
like I said, this what I've heard from people using them. They were using a 42" pc with ace and BJ 240's. I've got one on the way so guess I'll find out...

just to get your prices straight, hunting licenses are around $20, depending on the what your hunting.at least thats my experience for being a resident in the western states.

how long do you think it takes for a normal slider off opening?
