  1. Help me out here. Trying to convince someone that 90 hours/week REALLY isn't normal. How many hours per week on average do you work and what do you do? Here's me: Mechanical Engineer - 40hrs./wk Edit to add emphasis!
  2. Wait a minute, can't you use averages here? If so... #4 F=ma and a=v/t F=ma: a=490,000/5= 98,000 m/s^2 a=v/t: t=4000/98,000=0.0408 sec.= 40.8ms #14 F=ma and a=v/t a=v/t: a=220/0.0065=33846.2 m/s^2 F=ma: F=41*33846.2= 1.39E6 N
  3. Hey Peter, What's your disability exactly? Paraplegic...due to what...what level? If you want to take this to PM's that's cool. Otherwise I'd keep posting everything here for others to read about in the future. Also I'd be VERY interested in seeing video of what you do after opening. You pulling your legs up, how you do it, landing, all the protective equipment you use, all that good stuff. Thanks, Russel Edit to add: Nice jump by the way!
  4. Unless you're an idiot like me and miss one which ends up putting you into the rocks.
  5. Sounds more like paragliding.
  6. The broken hip bone I mentioned was meant to be refering to the broken pelvis. Pelvis, hip bone, iliac crest...whatever. Yup, that was the Monday lost toggle incident. Oops! Yeah, I left that one out because it wasn't minor. But you're right, let's not forget it! Ooh, not bad. Anyone have more info on the broken arm and leg on Monday?
  7. I'm bored at work so I'll fill in what I know/heard. Thursday - Broken (was it broken?) ankle due to bad landing. Thursday - Broken hip bone (iliac crest) due to practicing object avoidance maneuvers for a little too long (ended up low). Landed on boulders. Friday - Broken tib/fib due to hookin' it in. Saturday - Broken wrist due to hookin' it in. Monday - Broken T12 vertebrae due to lost/blown toggle, rear riser flare too high and stall. Monday - broken arm or leg (that's all I know) due to unknown reasons. Yeah, yeah, yeah real descriptive, I know. That's all I know, can someone with more accurate info please fill in the blanks or make corrections?
  8. Attached is the ending result of my hard opening. I broke both ends of my femur off. Granted I have really poor bone density, I’m a paraplegic and I took a 2.5 second delay slider down on a BASE jump but… it's still an opening injury.
  9. You think "Sssss" and "jonege" are one and the same...?
  10. That was the silliest, most exhausting and greatest weekend ever! None of it would have been possible without everyone’s help. Thanks to you all for giving up sleep and exerting an insane amount of energy and time to help me get my “E”. For those curious about Abbie’s talus landing comment, yup I landed on the rocks unintentionally. Luckily, I didn’t break anything!

    Apex Website

Why is it not working? Does it have to do with me being at work? I get this, "Directory Listing Denied This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed." Any ideas?
  12. Ok people. First off the rabbit was already dead (road kill) and secondly, I didn't do this. I wasn't even there. I just have the video.
  13. How about this rabbit story (ok, well, more of a rabbit video)?
  14. Totally off subject here but what does the "U" stand for?
  15. Seriously, I'm not trying to be an ass here, but shouldn't you be jumping a larger canopy then?
  16. I know, you're right. I just had to bitch. Sorry!
  17. Like others have mentioned...$144/year! I pay $291.50/month!!
  18. I was told by a friend today that he would buy me sushi.......... if my PD-126R didn't open in time after taking a 2 sec delay off a 486' foot bridge. What do you think? Will it open in time or will he be buying my sushi?

Here we go again but.....MMMMMMMMMM......Tom's Tri Tip.....GOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!
  20. Clicky Edit to add: Oops, I guess I wasn't quick enough to be first.
  21. I've obviously never done one but how about putting your hands through the toggles but holding onto the risers. This would prevent pulling one toggle down farther than the other during the roll but would give you the ability to be "on the toggles" instantly after the roll. I have a feeling this is how I would do it.
  22. I feel for you my friend. I too hate the hospital. There's not much one can say except for hang in there, you'll be out soon enough. I tried to spend as much time outside and out of my room as possible. I was also able to go on small trips home (only a couple miles away) ever so often. Ask the doctors if you can do that. That'll help a lot! Take care and heal fast. I look forward to thermalling with you sometime in the near future. Russel
