Thanks buddy... it's called an opinion... Even regular civilians are entitled to one.
-
It's statements like this that really say a lot about a person.

Bush is a bumbling fool... (At least when he's speaking without a script) Everytime Kerry confronts Bush, Bush just repeats himself and doesn't address what Kerry has said. "We must be steadfast" du du du du du du du...ba ba ba ba... uh uh uh uh ... er er er er.. ha ha ha! F-O-O-L

I feel sorry for you everytime you post things like this... If Edwards says re-electing Bush will invite terrorist attacks, then says re-electing bush won't invite terrorist attacks, it would fall under the category of a flip flop... He did not say that, so it doesn't fall into the category of flip flop. Doesn't the whole flip flop accusation/name calling/pointing fingers feel a little ridiculous, elementary and old by now? There's certainly more important things to talk about than this.

Any Experience with Sony Camera Repair Process?
freeflydrew replied to freeflydrew's topic in Photography and Video
I'm looking for any info on repair process for a sony minidv camera, in terms of procedure, costs, repair time, workmanship, if the service is warrantied, etc... Is it true that they'll fix anything for one fixed price? Thanks in advance -drew -
In my opinion, I don't think that anyone is going to send people into Iraq, and the whole subject of that should be disregarded from the campaign. GWB didn't have support going into it, and Kerry wouldn't get support going out of it. There's no plan to "get out of Iraq", and maybe it's time that both candidates fessed up to the fact that the US military are going to be there for a long time. Aid on the other hand is another issue entirely... From the same article "There is no sign that the German public, which loathes the US president, would accept risking German lives to salvage what is widely seen as Mr Bush's botched war. In fact, high-ranking German officials are privately concerned at the prospect of Mr Kerry becoming president, arguing it would not change US demands but make it more difficult to reject them. Both France and Germany, however, have said they would contribute to the reduction of Iraq's debt and participate in economic and environmental development programmes. Berlin already trains Iraqi security forces outside Iraq and France has said it would do so. Mr Kerry is expected to make Mr Bush's record of alienating foreign capitals and undermining US credibility in the world one of the chief arguments on Thursday night when he confronts the president in the first presidential debate." What exactly was your point again?

Ever been a double chute failure? *knock on wood*
freeflydrew replied to gravityizsexy's topic in Safety and Training
You could try searching the forum for total mal, or double mal, or doub;t chute failure... This forum is usually for incidents that have happened, and I think General Skydiving is where this one belongs. -drew -
Should "hook" turns be banned at demos?
freeflydrew replied to hottamaly's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Just so I put it out there... In reference to the demo video clip that I posted. We were briefed before the jump that theere were to be no hook turns below 200 feet and that the FAA would be at the demo, so don't make any mistakes. I was the first one out and there was a cross wind at the landing area (I was the wind dummy). I flew as much into the wind as i could without cutting the landing area too short. I flew the canopy to the best of my ability, and at no point did I put anyone in danger... i had plenty of time to pull up if I was too low (which wasn't even close to an issue), and I put it exactly where I intended... on the "X". My landing is not a perfect example of anything but a successful demo landing... and if I had "leveled out a bit sooner", I would have overshot the target by maybe 75 feet. Every single person who landed at that demo passsed over the crowd below 50 feet, and there were 23 of us both days, including swoopers, crew, a huge flag, and a tandem. Every one was safe, the crowd loved, and we all hada blast. Only people with the appropriate skill level participated. We've been doing this demo for years. -
- always deploy stable (even when using the reserve); Isn't the "rule" 1.Pull 2.Pull at altitude 3.Pull Stable

On a well winded day, don't jump unless your comfortable jumping in wind... Don't fly downwind of your landing area, do fly a pattern, and don't flair all the way, unless you've reacted late and are going to pound in. You should fly your canopy in full flight before you flair so it is most responsive, and expect to only have to flair 25% to 50% for it to put you down comfortably. Rip it to shreds people, it's only my opinion.

I put 6 jumps on a brand new sabre2 135, and I couldn't believe how great it open, flew, and yes people, swooped. I swooped just as long as my stiletto 107, but i definitely had to start the turn lower. If anyone is looking for a great all around canopy, the sabre2 could very well be it. -drew

Just a story of my accomplishments in landing :)
freeflydrew replied to skyhighkiy's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Quote I'm being closely observed and trained by an extremely experienced jumper (somewhere around 10,000, tandem master, master rigger, IAF instructor, coach) that we all consider a safety freak. He has seen all my landings (He took me on my 1st tandem and has trained me since day 1, and all the way through the course) and has encouraged me to continue what I'm doing, as long as I don't get any more intense than what I'm doing now.reply] Get a second opinion... -

NO, GWB does not flip flop... he changes his stance based on new information. It is a sign of intelligence and open-mindedness. OH WAIT, that defense only works if it's used for Kerry, right? If Bush does it, it's a Flip-Flop. I think it's safe to say that both men have changed their minds based on new information, are relaively open-minded, and both are intelligent. It's also safe to say that both men, have in fact, flip flopped at some point or another (Hi trent)

of course you can win, and i don't think it can be won is a flip flop... bush flip flops, and so does kerry... the subject has been over discussed. One is the president, one wants to be the president, both are flip floppers.
