I have to say that comparing Skydiving to driving is prety pointles. I think some very rough stats are 1 in 120,000 jumps ends in a fatality. Most of which are under a perfectly functioning canopy. If you are also looking at the dangers of Skydiving you need to look at more than just fatalites. You also need to take account broken bones etc. Yes Skydiving is dangerous.... But it is probably not as dangerous as Joe Public think it is. If you do not understand the dangers involved, perhaps you shouldnt be jumping. Accept the risk and you will find the rewards out wheigh them by miles. There is a utility called SUPER (Simplified Universal Player Encoder & Renderer) which can be downloaded for free from http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html This will convert most video formats into another. When I was treeking in the Himalayas, occasinaly we found cans Coke for sale. Some of it was over a year past it's best by date. I have got a HC42 in a Cookie helmet, so there is no waiting for it. The only issue with it is that you have to take the camera out of the helmet to spin the screen round, to allow you to se what you have just filmed. I have a HC42 and the Cam eye works fine. The issue with the docking station is not a big one. It is one small extra thing to put in you kit bag along with the cable. If you are on a budget, don't let it put you off getting the camera. p.s. to answer the orignal question... I currently have a Sony HC-42, and need some spare batteries (they just dont last long enough). I have found some NP-FP50 (the only size that fits in my helmet) equivelent bateries by a company called Inov8 for about 1/3 of the price of genuine Sony's. I have done a search in the forums and seen that other replacment types do not last very long, or last at all in the cold. Has any one had any experience of this make? Or can anyone recomend a good value for money make. Is it best to spend the extra mony and get genuine Sony?
