    Peter, you seem to be very positive and nice guy. However, just looking at your photos and info, there are so many things, that should not be done (smaller parachute, camera, tracking suit, earphones, no AAD, flying so close to a tandem, etc) at your experience level. Some of them should not be done at any experience level, to be honest. And BASE?... Try to read as much as you can on this forum. That might help you not to get killed or seriously injured.

    It's a pitty I no longer live in UK, it would be fun to meet you in person and discuss all that stuff I enjoy debates like that, but I am way too lazy to type that much. Peace.

    Same for me. And no response to the email, which I sent to Recon. I guess, it is up to them now to keep me as a customer.

    What a stupid title for a thread. This progression system has been used a lot in ex-Soviet countries. I have personally done it, as there was no AFF option at that time. No issues about reliability and gear set up.

    Those are Russian Malva containers. The one with belly reserve is PO-9, which were sometimes used with PO-16 parachutes due to some safety issues with lower center flap of original PO-16 container. All of them have PPKU AAD's. Mystery solved.

    Even if removing the rig would improve aerodynamics, it would not justify huge additional risk of not having a plan B. Eg. you leave the plane and suddenly the head wind gets much stronger, or you hit some strange thermals (as Gary did), etc. It would really suck to have the remaining 30 seconds of your life to watch the box rig too far in front of you

    Man, you need to go easy on coffee & beans for breakfast before the day of jumping I'm glad, it broke loose after you left the plane! On serious note, have never experienced anything like that over 14 years.

    They just mentioned on Sky News that they are most likely not going to show it live "for obvious reasons". Anyhow, it is supposed to happen shortly, they showed briefly Gary gearing up. Not sure, if it was live or recorded from his training jumps earlier today.

    Just saw the announcement on Sky News. 08.10 AM UK time (in 50 min) they are going to show interview with Gary & his wife.

    It is not a hoax. In my view, "magic ramp" is a real hoax. Just noticed that someone asked Gary about BPA & CAA permissions on his facebook wall. It will be interesting to hear his explanation. As far as I know, they are planning to build a box rig this Friday.

    In both case they are planning to use some kind of structure for decelerating the wingsuiter to a survivable speed. Whether it is a ramp or a rig of boxes - it does not matter much. In my view, both cases could be considered as landing. How do you define landing - flapping wings couple times and landing on a branch of a tree?

    There is one thing, I can't understand here: Guy A - spends years talking everywhere about magic ramp, NASA technology, etc etc. That generates massive attention from media, skydiving community, BASE community. Every average Joe in any DZ around the world is talking about that, whuffos are exited as never before. However, the jump does not happen and no one know, whether it will happen at all. Guy B - is actually going to do that in few weeks. And nobody cares?? Threads about someone not knowing how to dress up for the first jump of the season or discussions about breathing through the skin during freefall generate much more attention??? Someone please explain this to me

    Hmmm, I did my first jump with military static line round canopy when I was 13. Now I'm 28 and after 15 years of weekend jumping in not-so-nice weather in Eastern Europe and half a season being grounded by broken femur, I have 2000 jumps now. Looking back, probably it is the better idea to start jumping from 18

    I moved from Madrid to London last summer due to work reasons. I was surprised, that as a weekend jumper, I was making roughly the same amount of jumps in UK, as I did in Spain. My last jump of the season in 2011 was in mid December and first jump of this year was mid January. I don't think this is too bad.As usual, I'm looking forward to 150-200 jumps this year.

    No, was never involved in that myself. Just observed such practice in a dropzone, where I am not jumping regularly.

    Skydiver group was approaching the plane, the distance was around 30 meters by the time, when refueling was completed.
