  1. Oh, that`s even easier. Still, maybe for the future ventures, becoming a USPA member can help in the long run. dudeist skydiver #42
  2. Thank you guys for such quick and precise answers.
  3. I think Larry Simmons is jumping one. JFX. I asked him couple of questions about canopy b/c I saw it on his pictures on FB. You could make buddies with him and ask him firsthand. ...At least if I can remember correctly. dudeist skydiver #42
  4. Because of the bureaucracy problems with our aviation authorities, we are having great difficulties in getting skydiving ratings and licenses. It`s been like that for the last couple of years (since new legislation). The easiest and fastest method right now is to go abroad (mainly US) and getting ratings there, then get nostrification / validation here. My question is: Is it possible that we get one USPA examiner to come here and hold exams and necessary test dives etc? It`s definitely cheaper to get one-two guys here then 10 guys in the US. Is it doable? Is it by the book? Does DZ has to be USPA DZ? Anybody done this before? If so, can anyone give me some recommendation for rating company / individual? We are located in Serbia. Thanks. dudeist skydiver #42
  5. Does anybody know if similar thing (visor) can be mounted on FTP? dudeist skydiver #42
  6. happy b-day VB dude! drink something good today dudeist skydiver #42
  7. I use Global Entry at customs, it takes 15 seconds and no questions...wish they had something like that for domestic travel! Somehow I thing I`m not eligible for that Yep. Only volunteer information when asked. That's why I much prefer using a bag over the rig. Sometimes, it goes through without them asking anything about it. Also, just acting plain dumb sometimes does the job. dudeist skydiver #42
  8. Agreed. some are too cautious of thier ego to discuss thier shortcomings or debatable subjects. Charge on... 99% of the TIs that I jump with ask NO advice and are hard to accept any. Pissing contest every time. And most of TIs are not so good... dudeist skydiver #42
  9. It's not an explosive, it's a pyrotechnic cutter. Never, never, never say "explosive" at the airport. Last time I flew, a guy who was with me insisted to let security/customs officer know that he has small explosive charge in his rig... That made small scale incident and made delay of our flight. In the process, security officer, who did not know anything about AADs, called his buddy in army parachute regiment to ask "Whuffo is Vigil?" His buddy said he knows only "`bout Cypres" so this must be some kind of a devious plot to bring the plane down... I don`t know how they let him through in the end. He had his AAD card. OTOH, I kept my mouth shut. Went just fine. dudeist skydiver #42
  10. I dunno, mine is longer and lean, comes out pretty easily probably has something to do with construction and/or bridle folding. dudeist skydiver #42
  11. I do it for last couple of hundred jumps. No problem. Even almost all of the guys that I`m jumping with now switched to this method. On a side note, I had some hard pulls before because of various "proven and reliable" techniques taught by some (much more experienced) guys. Once I was even told that you ARE supposed to put a lot of strength into pulling PC (and not be a sissy). "Pull it like a man!" WTF? I also got comments that my new "Germain" pack is gay. dudeist skydiver #42
  12. It is easier to swallow (and digest) when you put it like that. "Good of the free world". This whole thing with Wikikeaks is nothing new. Unless you are blind-minded-do-what-you`re-told sheep. It`s just that now more people can see that it`s not all black/white as they thought. But still they find ways to justify things. As I see it, the US is world super power with military strength to back it up. Thus they can do whatever the hell they want, and are in process of doing it. Still, they use propaganda to soften things up for the common folk. Free world, democracy, bla bla... We may not like it, but that is how things stand right now. As you can see, even when these things became obvious for the larger number of people, mindset is not going to change. Except, maybe US govt will say "OK, maybe we are like that, but what are you going to do about it? Huh? Well, suck it up cupcake!" dudeist skydiver #42
  13. IMHO when sitflying with tandems, passenger is always to far away and too small in the frame. If you are belly flying you can be close - at arm`s reach, and when sitflying you are leg distance away, right? Or if you are sit/back flying closer, you have some part of your body under a tandem? Plus lots of the shots have camera guy`s legs in the shot which i personally don`t like. Still I like to freefly the exit and opening. I get better shots of that part of the skydive. A friend of mine, who does not fly wings, but has tons of tunnel time, still managed to fck up couple of tandems last season. Also, some shots were like in DSE`s post. So I`m +1 about "flying with wings" and "dressing for success". dudeist skydiver #42
  14. Why? Because he is from Somalia? I guessed you can buy whatever the hell you want with your money (legal stuff, of course). And no need to explain anybody why did you buy it in the first place. If it is so, where is the freedom in that? For example, if I bought couple of barrels of diesel and a dozen bags of nitrate, could I be charged and convicted of "likelyness of terrorism" because I also have a family in Bosnia? dudeist skydiver #42
  15. Is this pulled out of a context or one could be really accused of terrorism just for having large quantities od farm supplies (like couple of barrels of diesel and artificial manure) and be pissed at the government? I mean "likely to be used"... Shouldn`t there be an intention? How you determine what is "likely"? dudeist skydiver #42
  16. I won`t even try to guess how this system ended over there... but here is the mail: sky-naum@eunet.rs dudeist skydiver #42

Aren't we about due for a new skydiving flick? It's been a while. IMO this generation is not going to have any skydiving flick... At least not in a movie theater. They already have Pastrana-Nitro-Circusses and Jackass and whatnot. And they all have those tiny GoPros to make their own blockbusters. As a matter of fact they already got one. It`s "reality show". dudeist skydiver #42
  19. I like this idea. Providing that the ones that do gear check, know what the hell are they doing. dudeist skydiver #42
  20. What about Intel`s i3 or i5 CPU? Especially i3 b/c it is on the cheap side? dudeist skydiver #42
  21. You can send PM to Laszlo Andacs. He goes here by the name Laszloimage. Very nice guy. dudeist skydiver #42
  22. I have that one. I can`t get it to be as sharp as I would like. B/C it is full manual, It`s not so flexible. So it requires too much adjustments. For example, when in AN-2 it`s like in a cave and I get a lot of noise, then on exit it`s another light conditions, and if there are clouds another lighting... Still, even though I use kit lens for tandems, I use that Zenitar for "fun and games". dudeist skydiver #42
