Transition from Parafoil to Stiletto at 80 jumps is going to get you killed (or seriously injured). Smaller Sabres that people on your DZ jump also. My friend from BL had 300+ jumps with Parafoils and ended with broken back under Sabre1 because nobody could give him any advice or coaching on how to fly it. If you want to go for the swooping, just forget about accuracy parachutes. You don`t HAVE to do anything, unless maybe you get free jumps if you jump Parafoils, and I think is not the case. As I see, you don`t get to jump that much so why waste your money and time when you just can`t become good at both disciplines at the same time. You could always go for the northern DZs. They mostly don`t do classic accuracy... just my2c dudeist skydiver #42

What do you all think would happen to human way of life and thinking if suddenly there were big alien ships over Earth or when some non-Earth civilization with far greater science/tech/mind level would contact us? 1. Would people, faced with idea that we are definitely not alone in the Universe, stop to do all stupid, selfish things, stop being "profit-oriented-earth destroying" beings, and turn to more "Star Trek" utopian society? 2. Or it would be more like District 9? Let`s put the aliens into concentration camps and let`s try to get their technology to get military leverage? Preferably all organized by large multinational corporations for (fun) and profit. I bet solution #2... (maybe without camps, but multicorps, profit and weapons for sure) dudeist skydiver #42

No, it was worse, Piroplasmosis. If your dog gets infected with this, ie. bitten by the tick, you have just couple of hours to take it to vet, or outcome will be fatal. It is that quick and deadly. We lost just 5-6 hours (finding available vet at January 1st is not so easy) and the poor dog almost didn`t make it. Recovery - 3 to 6 months... Anyway, I`m off to afternoon coffee. My buddies at work were good enough to make me one. dudeist skydiver #42

My Max fits in that range too. 15 Euros worth of frontline for him. Thanks for reminder, he will get his dose this week. My family dog. Leo, almost died last New Year, because he got some disease from a tick bite. In December! And he is big golden labrador retriever... dudeist skydiver #42

Couple of tips from local standpoint... Because I know your DZO (and gear that he distributes), you will likely only get to choose between PD and maybe something more exotic like Firebird. Path with K-360 (which is a Parafoil-270 copy) is not a good one if you wish to practice CP (except piloting for classic accuracy and CRW). Those bigass canopies fly very different and flare different from even big Navigator. I also know that demoing in Serbia is almost impossible. So not so much chance for you to try before you buy. As guys here told you already, all things considered, get back to Navigator. With that K-360, the switch on some smaller, modern design 9-cell canopy will be significant. You will benefit more from Nav. *Also, stay away from any PD-9 cell 190 that somebody might offer to you, no matter how cheap it will be. That specific canopy had too many owners. Ask yourself why. dudeist skydiver #42

Thanx mucho my Swedish friend! I got thread about me for my b-day! Yay! Plus finally something good about living in south Europe. Skies are open (unlike yours) and jumping weekend is ahead dudeist skydiver #42

I think results with Smoothcam look awesome. On web. How does it look like on "big" screen ie. comp or TV? And secondly, could using EIS make picture "jerky" after compression? I just jumped last couple of weekends with cx105 using EIS and after editing picture looks quite shaky... dudeist skydiver #42

Well done america, what a great role model you are...
mircan replied to rhys's topic in Speakers Corner
If you think that they did not have enough time to see what they were shooting for the first firing (which is far stretched) there can be no argument that they plenty of time to see the van that they were shooting the second time. The pilot just wanted to "smoke" someone, fast. dudeist skydiver #42 -

After looking the footage it seems to me that I saw two guys with AKs before shooting started. So there were some guns. Also the telephoto lens on that camera "might" somehow be confused by an RPG in the eyes of stressed trigger-happy pilots. But, half blown up man crawling on the street was definitely not a threat. More so, it seems to me that van just seem to be passing by and stopped as they saw wounded guy crying for help. They had no weapons on them too. Still those pilots blasted them away... Imagine yourself driving along your suburb, driving kids to school, then you see wounded guy with his guts out crawling down the street. You stop to help the man, to drive him to the hospital. And then you and your kids die because somebody was trigger happy?! Accident my ass! First shooting could somehow be named as mistake, second is just murder. US government in the past characterized similar events as war crimes when done by somebody who is not US Army. dudeist skydiver #42 -

Maybe Clasic`s settings will help. I stopped jumping Parafoil long time ago, but I used similar settings (looked like daisy-chaining). dudeist skydiver #42

I jump for over a decade now and I did not use one for the most of the time because it was too expensive. Still, when I got "offer that I could not turn down" I got myself one. The only difference now is that I have this extra degree of "calmness" in my head. dudeist skydiver #42

Well, since I`m 4000 miles away, it would be really nice if you could make ppt... Thanx for the enthusiasm anyway! -

Would it be similar to "Tandem videos made easy"? dudeist skydiver #42 -
Someone is beign a bit of a drama queen haha no but seriously...lets be serious, nobody relies on an AAD, if we have an AAD fire, we needed it, not wanted it. I don't think you will ever meet anyone who regularly has a cypress fire, because they think it is fail proof, thats making a very gross assumption and overplaying the situation greatly. You guys do realize that you are arguing against a safety device...made for safety? Replace the word AAD and Cypress with the word reserve handle. Now how silly do we all sound. if you just don't want to spend the money, say it, but don't make arguments against a piece of equipment that saves lives, it sounds silly. -Evo I know a person that, in "malfuncton" situation (flat spin), decided to stop fighting and just wait for the AAD. I witnessed the event. Also I heard at least about one more person that did the same. You know, stop fighting and just wait for it. Could that maybe be categorized as relying on an AAD? dudeist skydiver #42

Anyone have details on this emergency bailout video?

How about now? If that is a "CC" prefix, it is Chile. For a moment I thought it was Skydive Andes as they are in Chile and have Compair too. We were considering getting Compair for skydive operations because it is turbine and it is cheap. But still, it is not certified worldwide for skydiving operations. Scary footage. dudeist skydiver #42 -
Well Mike, It`s been busy here. Gazing on these forums take a lot of time from my work. So when you see me here it means that I have spare time on my hands (just like you) dudeist skydiver #42

With how many jumps is it ok to follow out tandems?

Optima to Hypeye D pro without expansion kit?

Optima to Hypeye D pro without expansion kit?
mircan replied to mircan's topic in Photography and Video
I was wondering did anyone manage to connect Optima LED to Hypeye D pro without expansion kit (direct wire connection)? My Optima LED broke so I have the cable and I don`t need extra options in expansion kit. For mounting of the kit you still need to open up Hypeye and it uses standard jack. Thanks DSE. We are switching to HD this season so my "boss" asked me to calculate the price for HD video. We are also considering to deliver video on USB drives as the price for 4GB flash drives is the same as BD disc media and plus is that you don`t need the burner. I`ll recommend double price for HD, but we`ll see as it is going to be quite pricey (we offer digital stills on CD - no charge). dudeist skydiver #42

Thread bump. Two years later than original post... Do you still charge more for HD video and what is the delivery media (BR, DVD5, USB flash disc...)? If you charge more, how much (in percents)? dudeist skydiver #42
