Your Math is simply wrong. According to your Math the Risk of dying would be higher each jump until it reaches 7.5% on your 10000th Jump. That is not the case, its still the same risk from the first to the last Jump. You can try it by throughing a dice. The statistics tell that you have chance of getting one 6 out of 6 tries. This would mean if you have 5 times a 1,2,3,4 or 5 the chance rises to 100% on the 6th try. This is obvisouly not true. QED Martin Take care up there!

A Friend of mine learned Skydiving with the right arm missing, as far I am aware it was hard but not impossible...you may want to have a look at her Homepage. It's in German, but I am sure she will answer your questions when you send her an email. http://www.one-hand-skydiver.de/ Martin Take care up there!

Getting stable after cut away - Altitude?
Springbock replied to hcsvader's topic in Safety and Training
here is an example how not to do it ;-) After an uneventful AFF Jump I experienced a spinning malfunction. I chopped the Main quiet high (2000ft) Before going for silver I turned to Belly Position but had still some momentum turning right which than resulted in an Linetwist of the Reserve. The reason I did not first stopped turning before firing the Reserve is that I was unsure about my Altitude as I had no idea at what altitude I had set my ditter to I learn from this experience that altitude awareness is the factor to succes but also that a Linetwist in a Reserve is not a Big deal with enough altitude. The Video shows how easy it was to kick out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9pBQk88kp4 Take care up there! -

No, but I used a more simpler Wideangle Lens where the Problem did not occur. Unfortunately that Lens is not suitable for HD Videos. Take care up there!

OK, my plan failed completely. We are 3 Videoguys at our DZ having the same Lens with the same Problem. Regardless what we do, we even baked the Lens in an Oven to dry it, we have moisture in the center when its cold in the air. It seems better when its warmer. However, when I don't find a solution I will buy a different Lens. Take care up there!

As not being a TI I cannot answer your question, just go and ask in the German Section, I am sure you get an answer. Martin Take care up there!

I have had moisture on my Rainox Lens on some Jumps looking very much as your example and I had it not on some others. My Idea is that it is moisture from in Between the Rainox and the CX105 Lens. I will try to get rid of it by putting the Lens on in very dry condition (warming my room up right now with humidity at 20%) and then put the Lens on tight and putting some tape around the connection. I will then leave it like this and don't change the Lens anymore. Lets hope that helps. Martin Take care up there!

I got my Contour Hd last week and was able to test it in the sky. The pros is the easy to use Handling. On the con side I see a quiet hard compression with artefacts noticable on equal coloured backgrounds (like clouds or our white aircraft). What I sspecially disklike is that there are distorsions once in a while for a frame, meaning that my helmet goes from round to egg form for a frame and than back to normal, you can see this also on the Background. No Idea what is causing this strange effekt. However, i bought this Camera for debriefing AFF and coaching Jumps and for this purpose its a nice tool and the quality more than enough. Yeah, i have ordered one last week, I hope its arriving these days. With a price of 299,-€ (about 400$) its cheap as well. I let you know how it performs once I have tried it. Take care up there!

I just watched the Tandem Video off their Website. Looks terrible, if not dangerous in my view. They should not only looking for TI's but also for Videographers or at least get their own Stuff instructed. Take care up there!

Do full face helmets impair communication?
Springbock replied to ryan_d_sucks's topic in Gear and Rigging
Get a Fullface Helmet and keep the Protec. I still have and use my 6 Year old protec, and nobody is mistaken me with a Student, because its just plain cool ;-) but on RW the Fullface is just the safer option while I don't like it on a Hot Summer Hop'N Pop Take care up there! -
As most Skydivers like Beer after Sunset and some can't live without I do not know anyone working in Iran ;-) Take care up there!

The funniest thing travelling with my gear was when they screened it and had a guessing contest between the security personell about what this thing might be. The winner was quiet happy to be cool around his colleagues and I went through only with a slight delay. It always depends on the Person you are checked by and sometimes even how they are doing on that paticular Day. Take care up there!

And I do love my Screen Protector, its great ;-) Take care up there!

It seems they shifted "Die große Show der Naturwunder" to the 16th of October in order to show 22 People (without Wingsuits) running on a tiny little green square (however its not so tiny you couldn't land on it) playing a Ball game (Yes, it requires only one Ball). I will use the time wisely and watch Wingsuits LIVE in the Air in the meantime, at least if I can fly fast enough to keep up. Take care up there!

You better give an Transponder to the Tandems, it might help with in Air close calls ;-) Take care up there!
