Hello Seattle! I am going to coming through town several times over the next few months. Looking for other fliers interested in 30 minute (or more!) huck jams. Just looking for a good time in the wind! Belly, back, sit/stand, formation and/or dynamic. I have about seven hours now over the last 3 months at SkyVenture Arizona. I am not quite to head down yet but enjoy flying with those that are. Anyone out there interested in a good time!!

Hello all! To much surprise, instead of my company sending me to Minnesota, or Iowa, for the winter, they sent me to Arizona! I have to work 7 days a week, but have managed to make time in the evening twice a week to get 15-30 minutes per session in the SkyVenture Tunnel at Eloy. I have worked mostly with Jim Stengell with a couple sessions with Vince and Bill. I have about 4 hours of time now and am eager to start spreading my wings and fly with fellow enthusiasts! I know there is a group that gets together occasionally, but I can not seem to find them on facebook. Does anyone have some information that could help me find them? Is anyone else out there looking for flying friends? If I could, I would fly 5 nights a week! I have met some great people and hope to meet, and fly with many more!! I can't not even put into words how great it is to be in Arizona! My home in Washington received 16" of snow over the weekend, and I am down here getting a sunburn!!

Thank you Skymama! Even though I haven't jumped in a while my heart and soul has continued to fly. Looking forward to a lifestyle change that includes some airtime!

Nice to hear you are getting to fly again too. I had so much fun in the tunnel and it really was like riding a bike. It all came right back. I can't wait to build my skills and get back to flying with friends. Have fun, stay safe, and hopefully we'll see each other in the sky!

We have all been there in one way or the other. The most important thing is to remember to have fun, safely! I agree with making sure you have a plan for a fun jump, keep it simple and enjoy learning to fly with other people. When I first started my fun jumps it was me and another newbie, we both had about the same number of jumps and had some great laughs and spent a lot of time chasing each other as we learned! You can almost always find someone around with a little more experience than you to take a jump with and that will increase your opportunities for success greatly as you continue to learn to fly. There truly is no feeling in the world that compares to flying with others! Blue skies and stay safe!

Hello to all, As with a lot of people, sometime life gets in the way and sacrifices must be made. Although I had to sacrifice jumping for a while, I could never give up my gear. It felt great to get it out of the closet and the process brought back so many great memories. I have been away from the community for a while and am very much looking forward to seeing some old friends and making new ones along the way. I am extremely fortunate to find myself transferred to Phoenix, Arizona. I had a chance to make it to the Skydive Arizona dropzone yesterday and couldn't pass on the opportunity to take advantage of a 15 minute opening in the tunnel with Jim as my coach. It was so great to be flying again!! So in a nutshell, I am now working in Phoenix and want to spend anytime I am not working at Skydive, AZ. I do not know a soul down here so I am looking forward to making some new friends. Hope to see you in the air!!!

Hello! Just putting feelers out for a good place for CRW up here in the beautiful Northwest. I spend most of my time at Skydive Oregon in Molalla and there is not much goes on. I have purchased a lightning and am eager to try it out! Thank you Craig! I'm also making a trip to Eloy May 6-7 for the camp with "Frayed Knot". Who else is going? I look forward to flying with you soon!

I'm sure others have some interesting dreams! Here is mine from last night. Myself and a couple of coworkers(not skydivers) doing 4 way. We decide we are going to break off a little early to get good seperation. Well, I have been working really hard at refining an nice flat track and this time in my dream I tracked my ass off! In fact it was so good, one of my coworkers and I had a full on casual conversation discussing it as we were tracking and we both agreed it was awesome! So, during the track which seemed like it lasted for quite a while I had a chance to take in the scenery which consited of basically factories and industrial yards. For some reason our landing area was right between some smoke stacks and I remember thinking, "Wow, this track is so good I don't even have to pull to land!", and I just flew in, tilted my feet down so I went head up and just ran it out. I actually remember thinking "Cool, I don't even have to pack before the next load!" I don't remember very many dreams, but this one really stood out when I woke up. It is amazing how vivid the details seem like the feel of the wind, smell of the air, and remembering what I was thinking. What interesting tricks our minds play on us! Anyone else have some interesting dreams recently?

Thanks for the info everyone! The canopy is an original Safire 1 manufactured in Spain. I am able to hit full brakes and fly just fine. I stayed around 2000 feet for over 30 seconds with a slight breeze. I have been absolutely thrilled with this canopy. It is fun to fly, and it is easy to land. If there is no compelling reason to change anything, I'm going to leave it just the way it is!

I am really trying to learn how my safire 189 canopy reacts to different inputs and spent 3 jumps this weekend manuevering in 3/4 to full brakes. It is wingloaded at 1.3:1. Pushing both toggles down as far as I can reach I can not stall the canopy. Is this typical? Is there an emergency situation in which I would want to be able to do this?

I typically consider the extended warranty a ripoff and never get it, but skydiving with a camera is making me think twice. All advice welcome!

What is a mash up?

Because all of my extra money goes to either jumping or buying equipment I haven't purchased a new cd(or acquired in any other fashion) new music in quite some time. I saw the Green Day performance on The Late Show last week and decided to get the cd. I like it a lot, so I was wondering: What new music are you listening too?

I would really like to get one of these FF2 helmets ordered for spring time! I would like to help out a fellow skydiver representative by placing the order through them, however, no one has responded to my wanted classified. Does anyone out there know someone who would like to sell me a custom 2K FF2 helmet? Thanks!

I just recently spent the money on a gear bag and pro dytter. I will probably get a neptune sometime soon as well but in the meantime, my alti-2 works just fine! I have about 50 jumps now with the pro dytter and I have been surprised by how much I like it. As far as the gear bag goes, I used to show up at the dropzone with gear hanging off all limbs and making multiple trips, now I just make one and all my stuff is stored nicely whether I am at home or at the dropzone! OK, so I am kinda new to the boards with a whopping 18 posts now so I am just curious! For those that do post a lot, what do you do for a living and where do you find the time?

OK, first off it doesn't matter what your friend says or thinks. We know what feelings skydiving gives us and ultimately, no matter how much we would like to share with others, they really won't get it unless they try it for themselves. Your friends actions speak much louder than his words and it seems that he doesn't really want to see what it is all about. It could be because of fear or it could be he just really isn't interested in it. But I find it hard to believe that someone who would claim to like adrenaline producing activities wouldn't give skydiving its due, unless he needs to diminish it in his own mind so he doesn't feel like less of a man for being afraid of doing it. The arguement you entered in really won't have a right or a wrong, and instead of pushing someone to agree with me I think I would just let it go. As a skydiver you have a reference that most people can't possibly relate to. You had the desire, and the balls to try something that we are all taught to be afraid to do and you happened to love the feelings and sensations it gave you. I love watching skydiving videos and have a lot of respect for how easy experienced jumpers make it look. We know how much skill skydiving requires to do well, and we as a community share the excitement and challenges amoung ourselves. Your problem is typical with wuffo friends and outside of my skydiving friends, I will very rarely talk about it. Let it go and let your friend come around on his own. Don't push him, he knows your a skydiver and if he really wants to try it he will come to you when he is ready. In the meantime, enjoy your airtime!!

Just curious. Are skydivers generally more analytical, or creative? Math and Science vs. Art and Literature?
