  1. In other words if your reserve does not work you would not take it back for another repack?
  2. How much does he weigh? How nimble is he in making an emergency exit? Does the airplane have quick eject doors? What type of seat? ie. seat pack or back pack, or chair style.
  3. He did get the refresher training. And he did make a jump, fell flat and stable and then pulled the "silver" handle instead of the hackey sac! LOL Jimmy's back.
  4. Congradulation--95% great. I once took a speech class in college that consisted of giving 6 different types of a speech, i.e. entertaining, educational, informative, etc. I started with my first jump course outline and modified it to each type of speech. By the end of the semester the entire class was ready for PLF and suspended harness training! Got a "A'' .
  5. Typical government job--Here is a compass, bucket of paint and a brush- Now go paint the numbers on the runway-Compass reads-045 degrees. It is that simple.
  6. Jimmy Hefferman sent me this link today about Houston/Spaceland history. http://www.poljh.com/spx/spx.html From the years of '75 and '76 I don't know how to make it clicky. Very nice tribute to us "old farts".
  7. What about the combat static line troop jump into Panama severaa; years ago?
  8. The readers of this forum expect a report from you after you give your speech, including your grade!!!!!
  9. I have found a 'shot' bag in a closed, sealed, signed chest pack. And a pilot chute closing strap still on the pilot chute of a pilot's emergency rig, and a pilot cute locking rod on the kicker plate of a seat pack.
  10. I agree, looks like a "9-TU", but the cuts are very high. Must have had a great turn rate, fantastic rate of decent, and little forward speed.
  11. 24 April 1971, shows three jumps from Houston Metro Twin Otter at the Old Galveston Skydivers DZ in Dickenson, Tx. If I remember correctly we flew out of the old Spaceland airport and jumped into Doc's DZ. My question is: Was this the first recorded jumping from Dave Boatman's/Metro otter?
  12. That is the type that I made my first 800 jumps with. Probably offers more protection than anything being worn today.
  13. PD was really smart, what with putting a packing/jump limit on canopies! Just think of all of the income those inspections will generate for the company.......
  14. Terry=Thanks for the explanation of the lap rig. I've been rigging since the very early 70"s and have never seen a "lap" parachute. I always wondered just what they were! Doc D-2785
  15. Howard--Wern't the 1.6 LoPo's mfg. by Security?
  16. Stan Jones of Texas was trying to sell a RWB Team PC in a Pioneer 3 pin delux H&C last year. Contact him at--sej@sjdiving.com or call 281-487-4287. Doc D-2785
  17. Thousand pound, tubular nylon worked for me. At least the length of the canopy and crown lines combined.
  18. With the way you "slide" across the ground I'm surprised that you have only gone through 2 suits!
  19. Dave, I can get you one of the below patches, as soon as you qualify for the award!!!!
