Standard short line was 36 inches-some went a much as 48 inches-all depends upon total suspended weight and how hard you wanted to impact the ground.

The seal on the handle was probably from a "gear check" at a boogie, or a visiting jumper at that DZ. The reserve packing was still placed around the closing pin on the end of the RSL. -

Great photos from the ground! Telephoto lens or were you a little LOW? -
In 1970 Houston Parachute Service & School of Skydiving hired a high school student to re-pack all the student and staff rigs. When he wasn't busy he would pack other jumper's rigs just to earn more money. Real hard worker was he!

The FAA states 180 days. LOL

It would be worth what ever you are willing to pay for it!
-
I wonder what Ted has to say about that?
-
Too many to count! JM S/L students, 3 per load, land and repeat twice more. Repack all 9 student rigs and start over.

Sounds like Spaceland.

Steve D. Capps, C-8351, SCS-902, an 'old' round jumper, from the Beaumont, TX. area passed away in Amberg, Germany on 5/6/11. No cause of death known at this time. BSBD-Fly free my friend.

Pulling the steering toggle down did not make the hole bigger! It distorted the 'hole' causing the air escaping to rotate the canopy.
