I wanna go back! Good job I have 25 excuses to return in the next year thanx to the raffle Wow its a world apart done a couple small Boogies in the last year but nothing could have prepared me for how much I could have enjoyed myself/felt at home/not want to leave/seriously consider a change in jobs I'm a very little fish in a big big sky the realisation has hit quite hard that I gave to spread my wings if I want to get anywhere in the sport I felt a bit like the new kid at school and only really socialised with a small group that will have to change bring on the next year when i can get some decent experience and confidence in my own abilities to join in

Transport from girona to empuria
julesshrew replied to freeatlast's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I am out to empuria on the 28th but gotta fly home New Years day so a return bus is out of the question, how (un)reasonable have people found taxis just trying to weigh up the practicalities of hiring a car (at around £60 and foregoing New Year celebrations) -
After reading this thread last night I got a bit of the inspiration to have a new tattoo and fancied the simplicity of the two curved closing pins in a yin yang stylee and sketched it out (drawing round the pin off my necklace) didnt think much about it his morning but jumping was cancelled and I headed into town for lunch. Well I happened to pass the tattoo shop so popped in to enquire on cost and next available appointment half an hour and £25 later I left the shop with a new piece of art on my arm and 3 guys wanting info on how to start jumping

I had a dream when I was doing AFF that I was jumping with my instructor nothing eventful happened on the jump but after I was being chased by this guy around my old school building and when he caught me he told me his name was Damien and if i went with him I could fly forever at which point he turned into the traditional devil figure To say i was a little extra nervous about jumping the next day would be a complete understatement

IT generally clowns are just evil and should be burned at the stake but particularly the first time you see Pennywise in the drain either that or the kid in the cupboard wailing like a cat in the grudge

I'm not ready to jump with others yet but thats because Ive still got so much to learn since I qualified Im taking the opportunity to try as many different exits as possible and just concentrate on perfecting my own body position and see what I can do with the air around me without worrying about others in close proximity yet Im not far off starting WARP but with a new and smaller canopy to play with (1 jump on it so far) opening high and getting the hang of the flare is priority for me at the moment. If asked again in a few jumps time I would probably jump with an instructor or atleast somone who I am confident could counteract or cope with anything that my inexperience could throw at them

The rook is next on my list had my tragus done about 3 years ago only been jumping since October but have no problems from putting on/taking off my helmet The tragus was the least painful and problematic of my piercings mostly as I slept on it the night it was done and it appeared healed after 2 weeks no problems since

I recently put 5 jumps on a clipper 190 but the age of the canopy has meant it has lost its ability to flare (so ive been told) although Ive not felt a hard landing out of it other jumpers have said my last landing on it looked like it should have been painful (it felt like the softest of the 5) Based on their comments I was going to go back on the student kit rather than jump it again but ive managed to borrow a nice sabre 150 until i can get my own rig together

I was packing at the weekend and low rise trousers are not the most forgiving one of the more senior guys called me over to say he was glad i had proper pants on and not a 'tacky' thong Used to play the thong game when we were out a lot girls vs boys aim to find out the undergarments of members of the opposite sex (witness also required) the smaller the garment the more points ie boxers = 1 thong = 3 commando = 5 first team to 100 gets a round of drinks from the other

I did AFF out there a couple of months back Views are superb, people are great aircraft I cant comment on as I was there for a boogie for which an AN24 (which was changed for an AN26) was brought in especially. I will deffo be going back

Qwality tat I really want to get a skydiving themed one done, currently got (Im an avid 'soccer' fan) my teams badge on my right calf it wasnt particularly painful getting it done but the next few days I had to try not to put my feet up as when I went back upright the blood flowing back to my lower leg was soooo painful

I thought the programme was done quite well in the end particularly the paras' PLF training, I did wonder when it started, but for the sake of Joe public it explained itself step by step (even if it was too basic at points) Gotta also remember this is part of a 'Surviving' series last week was lightning and next is impailing accidents so based on incidents that most people dont survive
-
Lol shame, I guess he lost his copy of the manual as that probably would have worked when were together

Any other Brits watching this on channel 5 Following a case of a woman who after a fall of 4000ft only ended up with broken ribs and nose and investigating as to why she survived

I split with my wuffo bf shortly after taking up skydiving He simply didnt appreciate that I could spend my Saturdays at the DZ and not with him. Oddly though he now loves the fact that I skydive and always wants to see the new videos and find out what Im doing Generally I (and a few others I jump with from work) are having niggly problems with wuffo friends in general in that they are getting pissed that Its all we talk about but if we dont talk they get arsey saying that we are ignoring them

This story is in the magazine I bought today. So I thought I'd share the 'facts' enjoy Highlights from the article .... She met her keen parachutist husband and decided to do her first jump Two weeks later the couple did their first jump together while they fell he was gesturing to her which she didnt understand. But when they landed he told her he loved her Couple of weeks before due date went with friends to DZ instructors wouldnt let her jump but she found one who'd taught her to fly and told him she was only 6 months gone. Jumpsuit felt tight over tummy According to the article she jumped at 2000ft, felt the air rushing around her, realised her waters had broken and a sharp pain in her abdomen, then panicked tried to alert her friends who were skydiving around her She then ran off the landing while cradling her bump
