disclaimer: the following is creative fictional literature to illustrate my viewpoint on this, and is in no way personal or directed at anyone, real or imagined. Yea!! Lynch him! we should have lynch mobs in every major city, like the Brown Shirts of BASE, a roving gang to lay down the law, more feared than the man/police. Then it will get really fun when you go to 'cut his rig' he pulls a weapon then leaves you in that same trash can you were gonna leave his rig in. I agree with tfelber, ultimately people are free to do as they wish, there's no legal way to stop that. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Wow, so the guys you were flying with couldn't even fly base, or rather none of the bases were skilled enough for the position. I've flown with you so I know you've got the range and skills. I didn't think flocking was that complicated; it's not exactly brain surgery, but apparently it is still beyond the intellect of some jumpers. Sounds like the people you were flying with still don't 'get it'. You really should have held a remedial flocking 101 class to help them out, Glen.. Digging or not? What makes the difference?
tr027 replied to phoenixlpr's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Digging is using the brakes to plane out; brakes should only need to be used for the actual landing flare. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957 -
Fully agree with you there Glen. It's not quite plug n play like on computers. It takes a while to reprogram yourself to what the new suit wants, expect to exercise your patience. After 38 flights on the V2, I'm just now starting to feel that I'm using most of it's flocking potential and some of the top end. So far I haven't found any shortcuts, you just have to put time on the suit and keep working at it, or just get an S6... Does your dropzone allow wingsuit night jumps?
tr027 replied to VectorBoy's topic in Wing Suit Flying
It was no different for me than non-suit night jumps. The only tricky part is canopies are much harder to see and rangefind at night, but if you don't do night-buzzing you're fine. Wingsuits have been around for awhile now, so it's pretty sad that people have such a serious lack of understanding still, but that's just the way it goes. edit: to answer the question, the DZs I jump at don't have a problem with them (hence why I jump there). Gee, I'm really not sure if they work. I'm seriously having my doubts after a monowing won the Russia World Wingsuit Comp. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Well spoken/typed. I agree that to support an activity or group one does not necessaarily have to be an active member of that activity or group. Also, having a sliding scale for determing to what extent users get to break the rules according to their jumping experience is preposterous. With 19 wingsuit flights? Ya, he's only talking about a BMI, not the PFI (100 minimum) "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/10/03/hops.fire.ap/index.html A state of emergency should be declared for this natural disaster.. I don't think there are any backup or contingency plans in place for dealing with this either.. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. I'm not so sure that this forum has run it's course and needs to be put out of its misery yet. This forum is and will be what the collective users make of it. Lately it hasn't been made to be a very useful place. For users that can understand how to make it useful and productive, 'read between the lines' and in proper context, it can still work, but for others that only believe in drama-queening/personal attacks/pointless arguements, etc. it will be only a frustrating place, and boring for the others that are waiting for useful conversations to show up. Extrapolating from the current makeup of threads (useless drivel versus productive conversations) perhaps offers insight into which one there is more demand for. Just one question to clarify... is the 'freefly pad' those cool yellow notepads with the sitfly and HD silhouette emblems, used for drawing out the dive plan? If it is go with that for sure. Even if it isn't go with it cause it's named after your discipline of choice. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Strange. When I was learning I had some damage very similar to that happen on the GTI I was using. Just showed up out of the blue during pre-flight inspection. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Michael, Simply refer to this http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=4869 That is all. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

You really got me on that one. I saw the thread title, and even read the post, but up until I opened the link I thought it was a pretty cool idea/'program' you guys were promoting, riding a couch down from altitude to 5K... That's what 'Couch to 5K' made me think of first; cool pictures of people being couch potatoes in freefall. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. Yes, I agree with James here; I also prefer that if two grown men are gonna have intimate discussions of their crotches they should keep it in PM/emails. Mine's got

I haven't done that but I've done kinda the opposite. Joined a tracking suit jump wearing regular, proper fitting clothes and had a track suit go low on me. I think that was more fun and challenging than bringin a wingsuit to a track suit jump. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. Pilot is totally justified in being pissed if the go-around was caused by somebody at the back of the plane taking too long to verify the spot or otherwise holding up the load and blowing it for everybody else. If the load is simply too big (spreads past the useable window due to proper exit separation) then it shouldn't be a problem. Here's my best guess, You checked the measurements and they are ok. I would say go off the top body seam that runs from the neck to the shoulder. Extending a line from that seam should roughly intersect near the middle of the edge of inlet. If this also looks okay then maybe your problem is that you're gliding too steeply and no air is coming from in front The vents might not work if you're falling straight down belly to earth.. Actually, unfortunately the release of the V2 caught me by surprise so I hadn't planned on buying a suit, but of course I had to have it so I had to let go of the Phantom. I saw your Norway pics, good job Yes, the yellow cable is good, I have them on mine. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. Here ya go Kris. The first is a frontal pic, the second is from the top looking down. You can use landmarks like the cable sleeve, arm zipper, and stitch that runs along the top edge of the body. In the second you can see that the top edge stitch is pretty much aligned in the middle of the inlet. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

That does seem a bit off. I measured mine from the arm zipper (which I assume is in the same location on everyone regardless of measurements). The inlet starts almost 10cm from the arm zipper, and ends 14 cm back from the zipper, so that the midway point of the inlet is on the leading edge. Your picture doesn't seem to convey the same. Mine work very well, so I'm happy.

sooo... you do know that the V2 isn't designed or intended for backflying nor aerials, right?? I'm sure you may get away with it but you'll have to learn to use the BOC. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Oregon "ALL OF THE ABOVE BOOGIE", Who Will Be there??

So how about posting some shots for an unfortunate flier who hasn't jumped in 10 days, starting to get freefall withdrawal...will be sitting out at least another weekend, likely two. You're talking about the toggle setting, the distance from the brake setting ("stow hole") to the toggle. Yes, it's no problem for you to change that at all. Consult your local rigger for details.
