You have to really bored at work to start a thread like this. Weird question from somebody that only wants to give food severs a dollar tip no matter what the bill.

The filibuster is needed and is really needed in this case. I mean who in the hell wants more PRO-LIFE conservative judges on their way to the supreme court. This is what all the fuss is about isn't it?

I kind of dumb, but aren't they using the filibuster because if they don't and vote no the repubicians have the votes to pass the judges through?

So, when we see evil occuring elsewhere in the world, we should just mind our own business and do nothing to help people who are suffering? We should have stayed out of WWII and let Hitler massacre all of Europe, and Tojo massacre the Pacific Rim? We should quite supporting Israel and let the Muslims commit Jewish genocide? We should withdraw our support for Taiwan and let communist China invade and take over? We shouldn't have donated all that money to the tsunami victims? We shouldn't give food to the starving overseas? We shouldn't try and cure AIDS in Africa? My oh my, your proposal is quite charitable and loving. If the Muslims weren't so hell-bent on massacreing those who worship differently, there wouldn't be any motivation for America to step-in and protect those others. Then everyone could mind their own business. But for that to happen, people have to first learn to behave themselves and respect others. Besides Israel would stomped the shit out of most of the countries in the middle east.

I completely and utterly disagree with his position and think his supporting arguments are completely specious (you could just as easily say the spouse should choose because the parents can always make another one), but at least he's consistent. Or you could say that the parents spent 18 years raising her and are willing to take care of her and that he can even easier find another spouse.

YIKES!!! This subject actually had me and my mom talking about what I want done should a similar situation happen to me. There's no way in HELL I want her making the decision for me. I specifically told her my wishes - let me die - and her comment - you'd better have it in writing or I will not. I love my mom dearly, but when it comes to medical and life/death situations regarding me, she will not be making the decisions. I now have an advance directive...my will has already been made awhile ago (need to update it). And should I ever get married again, my husband will be the one given the responsibility to ensure my wishes are carried out. And, yes, he'll have it in writing as well. That's fine, but what if you didn't have one?

Sounds good, I'm not a doctor, but considering the feeding tube was removed and death was very near why did they care about her nerves either ears or brain.... I stop posting...My only point was that without a will the parents should be able to make the decision regarding the finality of the children's life when that child can't make it themselves.
