  1. Someone else always gets you up and you take off as soon as you're ready
  2. Thats phuqen great! Where can I get one of those t-shirts? Whats a good site that has alot of skydiving tees ???
  3. I'm Rainier Rodriguez, i do web design for an interactive television production company in New York City. I just started AFF and i feel hooked like a bass.
  4. Jhus, I've been waitin to hear the end of that joke for about 8 years now. A guy we were hanging out with at an after-hours in NYC was telling it but stopped right after he lit his own eyebrow on fire! with my lighter. AFter that, we got into a huge brawl with him and his friends and I never heard the ending. Til now! I was tantalized by the "and then the midget jumps on the bar and starts playing the piano..." THANKS FOR CLEARING THAT UP :) Anyone know the ending to the joke Judd Nelson is telling while he crawls thru the crawlspace in The Breakfast Club? I've been waiting to hear the end of that one for even longer. :)

    Expectations

I'm doing AFF level 1 this weekend or next weekend. How much briefing on emergency procedures should I expect? I jumped aff 1 about 6 years ago right off the bat. I guess the rules changed between now and then because this time around I had to do 2 tandem jumps for canopy control lessons. Has anyone done AFF at Skydive Sussex in NJ? I've had a great experience there so far (3 jumps) but I'm concerned that with the amt of tandem jumpers there all the time, I won't get as much info on emergency stuff as I should. They are really busy getting those funjumpers up and out. I won't jump if I feel like I'm not getting enough info re what to do if things go wrong. I've read the SIM, The Skydiver's Handbook and the Safety articles here on Dropzone and thats helped my confidence alot. Only thing is, I feel like some of the JM's there are less talkative than they should be. Please give me your thoughts on this and what you think I should hear, minimum. Thanks

    RockStar !!!

Yeah, I did an AFF level 1 a few years ago (before the rules changed I guess) and I remember that feeling of being alone under a canopy. I was shocked actually. I thought, goddamn, I'm &@(#*$en high! Anyway, I can't wait til my next jump..

    RockStar !!!

Feeling like a rock star today!!! exit, 2 prcps, left turn, right turn, take it all in, wave & pull, graduate to AFF 1. That was the 2nd of my canopy control tandem jumps. Now i get to jump with my own chute. I know i'm just a beginner but I think I've found my thing! Man, what a feeling. I did everything perfectly and I felt like a ROCKSTAR!! when I landed. Great canopy control and landing pattern n stuff. I felt really aware this time and I was doing things that I had thought about before the jump and it didn't feel like I was doing things like a robot. Hence that feeling... RR
  8. After all the stuff I'd read in the Skydivers handbook I still didn't wave & pull on my first level of AFF!!! Damn. My altimeter wasn't tight enough on my wrist and I had trouble reading it. It kept "flying around". I was locked on it, after 2 prcp's, to check my alt and my tandem instructor pulled, at 5500. If you don't know how high you are, what do you do???? Arch and pull!! I got a bit scared after that cause I realized just how fast you lose altitude. Anyway, I'm going back this next weekend to give it another go. Anyone have any suggestions on the strapping on of altimeters, for tightness? What models do you guys think are the safest, most accurate, don't fly off, etc ??? Obviously, I'm a newbie but I've found my thing, I think :) thanks
