Thank you for the reply!! I passed your thoughts on to my professor. I haven't heard back yet but the only reason I can imagine it's set up that way is to try and prevent response order bias. However, I agree with you that it could be easily overlooked and thus results may be skewed. It will be interesting to see what his explanation is... Anyway, thanks again for helping me with this!!

Hey guys (and girls), One of my professors is doing an independent research study on the perspective of individuals who work in unique industries, and has asked me to help by trying to get this survey out to friends who work in the skydiving industry... If you could help me out with this by following the link and taking the time (about 5-10 minutes) to complete the survey, it would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Dizagirl replied to 321seeya's topic in The Bonfire

Quote I cannot figure out why my position has been so good when jumping from the Skyvan but not the Porter or the Otter. On the ground, everything is rehearsed perfectly and I have no problems with body position.*** the plane itself shouldn't make a difference...its all the same once you're outside. im guessing it's the added stress of a new aircraft that's transferring into freefall. i jump at deland too, and i know the skyvan ROCKS but coming from a cessna dropzone im also a huge fan of the otter (not as much of the porter though, especially when it's crowded)...anyways my advice to you would be not to worry so much about passing the levels, but to focus more on enjoying yourself cause that's what it's all about anyways! good luck, maybe i'll seeya out there next weekend!

are you kidding me? i like myself better when im at my heavier range. i think having a little belly is so hot! of course im not talking about a huge overflowing beer gut, but a little softness is good... and most guys i know agree...

if you have the extra time and $, go out have fun and make some jumps! but i don't think ignoring your financial and work responsibilities and pawning your possesions would be a good idea (as tempting as it may seem!), so if that's the only way that you can jump this season then id say wait it out... you'd probably enjoy AFF more in the spring anyways cause the weather will be so much nicer!

i don't like her, she stuck her face in my beer!

QuoteWhy would someone want to lurk an AFF besides shooting video or evaluating the instructors? because my (nonskydiving) friend wants to make an aff jump and wondered if there was any way i could be a part of it... i said "probably not" (other than the plane ride) but it still made me wonder if there were any official rules on this... but awesome, thanks for the quick resposne!
-
hey guys i have a question... i know the general rule for lurking tandems is that you need to have around 500 jumps, etc but are there any official rules on lurking or jumping with an AFF lv 1 student? or is it just up to the dzo/instructors?
