  1. IMHO, I found while Presision has nailed the opennings on the 21 Cell their 27 Cell is a different story. I owned one second hand that had about 100 jumps on it. After I sent the guy the money he told me about its openning issue. In a straight PRO pack it tends to open with just the end cells inflated and they then fly together making a small unstable wing. This can be totally remedied by just pulling on the rear risers. I found after experimenting that if I packed it with the center 3 cells exposed and the other 3 cells either side just folded back under the slider it would open better. I could get it to open without just the end cells open however, it always had a very fast 360° turn to which ever side open last. As far as flight , I loved the canopy. I just did not ever get it to open in what I would consider good enough for me to wingsuit. Ever wonder why you find the Xaos 27 Cells with under 100 jumps for sale semi regularly? Kirk
  2. I only see one link on the orginal post and that goes straight to AeroDyne. I never noticed till just now that the system has an autolink to names.
  3. I think you are right unless the orginal poster posted the wrong link (since the link he posted was to areodyne.
  4. I would assume your talking to the original poster and not to me
  5. What are you bitching about??? She spent way more money on you!!! I personally would buy the purse then put $500 cash in it and tell her it is for cloths and you will go shopping with her. Personally when I bought a new rig$4600, I turned right around and told my wife(girlfriend at the time) she could have a new wardrobe and I would go shopping with her. She only spent about $2000 and I kept telling her she could spend more if she needed to ( the rig and wardrobe went on a credit card that is now paid off)
  6. Here is the link to the order form, it has the MACH1 along with the Raptor. http://www.tonysuits.com/download/ZWingFEdit.pdf Kirk
  7. The reality of what I believe is being said is this; we (as a whole) are not trying to discourage you from swooping, we are trying to tell you that you need to slow down (and maybe back up) so you do not get hurt. I have known very few swoopers that really pushed the limits and did not get hurt. Some heal completely, while others will have a week spot on their body for the rest of their life, while others have lost the ability to walk or use their hands, and still others have died in the pursuit of pushing the limits too much and too early in swooping. As for myself, (I am lucky) I hurt my ankle and now have one bigger than the other and when it gets cool out it hurts. I used to jog but now my ankle cannot take the continuous impact. You may just want to listen to what everyone is saying as a whole. Kirk
  8. That interestling, I have seen far more Wings Containers with open main pin flaps in freefall than Infinities. I fact the only Infinity containers I have ever seen open in freefall are ones that the tuck tab has broken on and not be fix. It seems to me that some designs need the closing loop to be the correct length in order to keep the main pin flap shut. That is why I personally think Infinities are the bomb, the way Kelly has it designed it the geometry on the closing flap is constant(where as on a Javelin if the closing loop is too tight or too loose it changes the geometry to the main pin flap). As far as which style is better IMHO the reversed and standard work fine, however I love the fact that my main pin flap is tight enough I can lift my rig by it and it stays closed. Kirk
  9. My vote is for design 6, "Infinity" Kirk
  10. There are quite a few things that make balloon jumps great 1) It is a dead air exit.
  11. I doubt it would work for me but out of curiosity what is your chest measurement in inchs? Next season I will be in the market for a suit (but for the right price I would be now) I am 6'3" but I have 49" chest. Kirk
  12. I would would love to at least hear from someone that flies a S6, V1 or V2 that has flown with a Mach 1. Yes, alot of it is the pilot but most everyone has an idea of their skill level and can see when someone just smokes them. According to what is being stated about the Mach 1 it should smoke the best of the best in any suit so I would love any commentary from other pilots that have flown with a Mach 1. Kirk
  13. IMHO it is really hard to articulate what skydiving is like. I think everyone equates it to something different. As others have suggested it would might be best to try it then you may be able to articulatewhat it means to you. A while back, I had a reporter call me for research on an article he was writing, in the end I suggested it may be best if he tried skydiving. After skydiving he decided he would write a second article. Here is the link to the article he wrote about his experience http://www.molallapioneer.com/ArcStoryPage.asp?Database=Story&StoryID=2541 Kirk

  15. My wife and I bought $100.00 worth of candy which filled a paper bag to the top (after taking them out of the air filled bags they came in) which left us with an additional 8 bags of candy. At the end of the day we had less then 1 bags worth of candy left. My wife started handing out two to each child but at about half way through the paper bag she switched to one per child. Due to the large number of kids going through our neighborhood there were quite a few homeowners that just set chairs outside their front door and spent the evening there, that way they atleast do not heat the outside so much. 16. Have you ever considered an Infinity rig by Velocity Sports? There design is awsome with incredible pin protection and secondary riser covers. They have incredible customer service. Kirk
  17. I have about 140 jumps on a VX, 2 jumps on a Velocity and 40 Jumps on a Xaos 27 cell. I am far from a great swooper, I would say I am mediocre at best getting pretty good swoops doing 180° turns. Velocity: openings: are searchy performance: Awesome, that thing is ground hungry and can swoop. Light front riser pressure Xaos 27 Cell: Openings: three of the first five pack jobs a straight Pro pack ended me the end cells inflated and flying together with the center not inflated. I found if I packed it leaving the center 3 cell exposed infront of the slider and fold the other 3 cells either side back under the slider, I could get it to open with the center inflated but I always had a fast 360° turn to which ever side open last. Perfomance: Great, more dive than VX light front riser pressure and not quite as ground hungry ast the Velocity. VX: Openings: Fair, after learning to PRO pack and roll the nose. Everyonce in a while when I do not pack carefully it can spank me. Performance: Good, high front riser pressure (this can be countered by starting with a harness turn then the riser pressure is light but it builds up quick), good dive( not as much as either the Xaos or Velocity). MY favorite feature of this canopy I have been in line twist with it about 15 times (trying to sort out packing for wingsuit flying) it flew straight, only once did it dive to the ground for one 360° turn before it leveled out and flew straight. On one of those line twisted openings my head was pinned to my chest and it still flew straight. LOVE this product. Kirk

  19. Over the last 5 years I have bought two complete suits and 1 pair of freefly pants. The fit has always been perfect and the look incredible. I am a tandem instructor and twice I have asked Sherry for reinforced knees that match the striping on the suit, and they have been perfect. I would highly recomend one of her suits as long as you can wait as they do take time but the finished product is so worth the wait.
  20. What my wife and I did was go ring shopping together and she picked out the diamond and setting. I picked it up and we went out to dinner. I had prearranged for a horse and carriage to meet us at the restaurant and take us to the spot were we first met (all within about 1 mile of the restaurant which I mainly picked for location plus her favorite food). The horse and carriage pulled up into the park that we meet for the first time in and stopped. I got down on one knee and asked her ( I had a speech prepared so it would seem more from the heart). After words we went on a horse a carriage ride around down town. In the end she got the exact ring she wanted and has the fairy tale proposal to tell people about ( there was less of a suprise at the moment but the overall effect I think was perfect). Kirk
  21. Yes, at a party one coworker threw. I was planning on staying at his house and after over a fifth of vodka, I ended going home with a coworker and her fiance'. I was soo waisted there are large gaps in my memory but the fiance' passed out in the bedroom and she woke me up in the living room. We started there ended up finishing in his car. The next day I woke up on their couch with no cloths on. Made a quick dash to fine them. I do not think I have ever felt worse especially when the three of us went out for breakfast . I would like to add that at that time I was 21 and that was 16 years ago.
  22. The best way to find out how one flies is to order a demo. One of the best pieces of advice I received from my S&TA was just to demo one. PD will send you one for a small fee(I believe around $25 plus shipping or something) it comes on risers. You just disconnect your main and D bag and connect up the demo. I personally feel everyone should demo jump their reserve or atleast one of the same size and make so you know how it really flies before your under yours with not alot of altitude to test it or time Kirk
  23. I personally have not made a night wingsuit jump yet, but Skydive Oregon is fine with them. This year there were two wingsuit pilots doing wingsuit night jump. I would have but felt I was too uncurrent with my canopy to do it since in 6months I only had 12 jumps on it. Kirk
  24. Nice chop. Just a passing thought, watching the video it appears you do 2 full revolutions with your canopy pointed at the ground while your unzipping. I know with a spector loaded 1.3 that is not a critical as it would be at a high wingloading and a more aggressive wing but you could have been flying your reserve that much quicker if you went straight to the reserve after trying to kick out. Also when you unzip you no longer have control of the wings if they were to inflat when you went back into freefall. Kirk
  25. I think you said it best, "stupid". I really think you should jump the suit for a while out of a plane where you will have enough time to do lots of practise pulls before needing to pull. Kirk
