In Europe, ski slopes are classed from green to black (Green, blue, red and black) green being the easiest and black the hardest. -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

Just got Ouragan's head officer on the phone. Ouragan as we knew it is dead, but the new Ouragan will know a re-birth on new basis. They should be operational very soon. good luck guys. -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

after my second completed season as a video flyer : top do's : be there for the customer and not for your friends at the DZ, you're hired by a person who pays big bucks for that ! always get ready, a 25 minutes call can suddenly become a 5 minutes call always be ready to relay on the TM when he needs it (ie : checking his gear, concentrating in the plane ...) when exiting : always check where you are ... you'll have to be back at the landing zone to film the landing top don't : never exit right over the Tandem .... if you've missed the countdown let them go and then dive the hell out (this can give very good shots too) center your subject : the customer and not the TM your customer paid to have a movie of him, not to look at your cool freeflying moves (by the way he'll just think that you are loosing control ...) don't let your customer alone on the LZ once the cam is OFF ... get him back to the manifest or at least to a safe zone -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

Google Earth Drop Zone Project -- Ideas and Discussion

.kmz are the natives files of Google Earth ... so i guess that if you install GE on your mac you "should" be able to read the files ... or go buy a PC -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution ! -
what you could do now on your belly will be useful later when you'll be skilled enough to discover freeflying : front flips, back flips, barrel rolls ... all those "basics" will help you to learn how to make good transitions, how to get your stability back once you'll have lost it (and it will happen trust me !) just make sure you're not bypassing steps : it can kill you and others on your load. cheers ! -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

the way we do it (doesn't mean this is THE way to do it ) : when the intro is done in .avi file we copy it on all the 4 edition stations. the cam flyers just have to drag it in our edition software each time they work for a customer ... easy and simple ! -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !
-
we use this kind of intro for 4 years now ... nothing really hard : each winter the DZ orders a 30secs clip to one of the cam flyers willing to do so. then it's up to your creativity in terms of edition. cheers ! -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

i begun to shoot stills last season when i was around 350 jumps fot the lasts 30 or so jumps. Then this year i have around 200 jumps with the still cam and the video : my back hurts like hell every single morning and i didn't experienced any hard opening ... with any decent video cam you'll be able to bring back some good footages, but taking stills is all another world, you'll have to choose the good moments to take the pics, it means that you'll have to forget to think about your freefall while you take the pics, you'll have to learn a lot about your camera settings and sometimes it can be quite frustrating once back on earth, and finally you'll have to muscle up your neck the more you can : trust me ! -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

quite hard to answer ... there's so much variables ! can you afford some tunnel time ? how "easy" are you actually on your belly ? have you ever tried to fly on your back ? etc ... it could take from 3-4 jumps to get stable up to 30 jumps before being able to stand up correctly in the air ... have a try but don't forget to ask first if your rig is freefly friendly ... -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

quite strange to see how the experiences can be different with manufacturers. Here in QC we are 6 to use the FF2 and no one of us had any problem with 2k composites ... from ordering to customer service and emails answers ... everything always been fine ! cheers -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

hi guys, Yesterday we did a sunrise load, i totally screwed up with my camera settings but sometimes mistakes turns into unexpected results ... picture taken in "sports mode", no flash, low light conditions (06:10 AM, local sunrise : 06:29) http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/cc345/kefran23/sunrise0142.jpg what i like the most is the movement coming out of this picture ... cheers -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

drilled mine by using my dremel tool : drill 2 holes with around 1cm between them then just hollow the fiberglass between them with the rotative sanding tool mounted on the Dremel ... max 5 mins job. And a really easy one too ! -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

as i can see you're still sponsored by Kronenbourg anyway : with THIS number you got the right to wear a camera on your head as i said on "da Gray" very nice work buddy

All the little things about cameraflying...
kefran replied to lewmonst's topic in Photography and Video
some from this year's good ones : left wing tensor broke during freefall : wierd flying position (the TM was hilarous !) passenger pushing my arm down while i docked him : nice move letting me spinning on my back right under them (good shots but ...) having my rig thrown in the plane by the packers while taxiing still cam turned to off when a student opened the door without saying it before (nice scratches on the rebel xt's flash too) Tm forgetting me ... he just jumped letting me the only option of diving behind him video battery died, took the spare one, just to see that ....... i forgot to charge it before loosing the wide angle during freefall calling a passenger Jeff all the way up to finally learn that his name was Simon once landed being on a 45 mins call .... which turns 2 mins later in a 7 mins call passenger deiciding that he don't want the video anymore 3 minutes before jumping and lots of other funny things that i've forgot -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution ! -
i begun to fly with a camera at around 60 jumps, and i begun filming tandems at around 250 when i didn't have to think of my flying to be (and stay) relative and safe to the tandem. added the still camera at around 350. regarding your question about back flying exits it sounds to me like you didn't let go both hands off the strut at the same time, though initiating a lateral rotation of your body. I tried a lot of times to suspend myself under the strut, but wasn't satisfied with the pictures i got back (the "I" is important here as the customers where totally satisfied with those videos ...) now when i have to film a tandem from a C182 what i do for the exit is really easy : i stay on the footstep (at the very end of it) and just let go a fraction before the tandem. here is a link to a promo video i did where you'll see one C182 exit : http://video.google.fr/videoplay?docid=-8523386513675432650 so Michael : be happy that we are in Canada and keep on training ;) to DSE : our PIMs are also telling us to have a C before learning sitfly and to wear a bubble arms jumpsuit to do so ... I guess they deserve some kind of "refresh" actually ... -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !
