to get bakc to the real topic : something i don't understand : why an added converter will degrade (i understand about the light) the pictures when it works just fine on our videocams ? and yes : i'm a total newbie at aerial photography cheers -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

don't get me wrong, i for sure will take great care of the paying passengers. what i meant is that i will have to make my tests on non-paying for video nor pictures passengers, i pay my slot for that as the passengers in no way are here to pay our training ! but the results can be .... surprising sometimes ! i'm sorry i hurt you -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

Yeah, that was way easier than what I said. but way less instructive ...
-
thanks guys ! as you said : i will have fun with it, at least at this price it's not really a big problem. and the tandems passengers will be happy anyway to have the pics ;) cheers ! -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

Hi guys, just thought that maybe some of you are using the same so i'm asking about wide angle converters mounted on a Rebel XT. I got one from ebay for under 35$ so even if it's not up to a standard wide angle lens ... so your advices about those stuffs ? best ! -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

are you sure that Bullet time is from debugmode ??? all i can see on their website is a plugin about morphing ... by the way effects like in 300 or the matrix can easily be done in After Effects without too much work ;) cheers ! -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

well I'm totally newbie at photography but here is the result of my first ever exit (beer !) with my Rebel Xt on the head. quite an easy one but i'm happy with it, it just pushes me to work and develop this more ! -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

i never asked money for that, they are my buddies, most of them were my instructors some times ago, i owe them most of my best jumps, i guess the least i can do is giving them some shots or vids if they want them. exactly the same way that i pay my slot to go on a friend's 500th or 200th jump and after it i will take care of the video(s) editing etc... for free. Friendship don't go with money ... this is this kind of attitude that pays back with some candies like the fact that one of those TM took my wife with him this summer allowing me to fly with her and to kiss her at 9000' ... he never asked for nothing and did it in the name of friendship

hi guys, i was just wondering : do you do any particular exercising to reinforce your neck muscles ? if yes what do you do ? I guess i will need some work during the winter as i will add a rebel XT to the PC330 on my head next season ! all the best -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

If i recall correctly the HC 96 still have the LAN C plug which could be a good choice to have if you're planning to use a Cam-eye II ... -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

you're right that there's no CSPA certification. This is a procedure that our Video manager have set in place for our camera flyers, i mean for the team in charge of filming the tandems. this «certification» is local and i never have said that it was anything else. i had around 15 jumps to do filming the tandems as a secondary cam first then as first one but always with our boss following me. until he estimated i was ok in terms of : 1/ safety 2/ product quality i wasn't allowed to go as a tandem camera. each one of those jumps was seriously debriefed and analysed as he was filming me (or our other cam flyers beginners) during the whole jump. just to add on the 500 jumps thing : let's say a friend of yours has 650 jumps logged, 450 of them being H&Ps (yes i know people like that ...) do you estimate he will be «qualified» for filming tandems ... don't you think that being formated specially on following tandems at 250 logged jumps will qualify this second person better than the 650 jumper ? now the fact that people believe me or not is not really my point here and i won't lost my sleep for that. -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

well ... as i am a cam flyer i don't really see what i have to do with tandem rigs manufacturers requirements ... as i said : other countries : other rules ... i'm not saying that i am the best one, but i have seen some very bad shots from 3000 jumpers too regarding my certificate i really don't have to show it here as you are not my DZO, nor TMs, not even my Video Team manager and i forget here my Security officer ... sorry guys, I'm ready to take any good advice, tips and tricks but don't play the "YOU'RE A DUMBASS ..." with me ok ? i do quite a good job and i think that i don't have to be ashamed of my work at all. Most of all i know that i still have A LOT to learn and to me this is what it counts the most (not even speaking of the pleasure to do so !). over. -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

hi, I now have around 170 jumps on my 150 hurricane. It's actually my first elliptical and I must admit that in the beginning I was quite scared to jump with it ... what a mistake, it allows you to fly it very conservatively if you want to and with time it seems that I can't see any limits. I am loading it around 1.4. being a camera flyer, openings are really important to me (and to my neck ;) ) and I must say that with a constant 800-900 feet it's just perfect, predictable and easy to steer while deploying. I have the spectra brake lines on it and had to add 2 inches on them recently (spectra's shrinks a little with time ...) I would recommend this main chute for beginners to intermediate pilots willing to enter the world of full ellipticals with an easy one which will follow your skills progression.

at our DZ : from 3k to 5k : we call this a «garbage jump» at 13,5k : this is a hop and pop probably the best thing you can offer yourself to improve your canopy skills .... and one of the bests feelings too ! -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

well, until USPA rules the world skydiving sport, i guess that my certification as a tandem camera will allow me to follow them in the sky, bringing back the pictures they've paid for. you have to live with your rules, i live with ours ... -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

even with 1800 jumps i wouldn't have been prepared to that ... yep ... unfortunately .... YES ! -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution !

Skydiving in different countries?
kefran replied to Blassiter's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
at least it will work in most canadian DZs ... but you can use the «dropzones» section on dropzone.com to see if the nearby dz will accept your uspa license as valid ... -------------------------------------------------- I never used 2 rocks to start a fire ... this is called evolution ! -

which seems quite normal for any AFF instructor they want to see you relaxed in the air because if things goes wrong suddenly you'll be able to calmly do your emergency procedures

AFFI, please accept my apologize, i took your words as somewhere quite condescending, as Glitch said written messages lack all the body language that come with. be sure that next time that this kind of situation happens i will recognize it ... and please take account that english isn't my first language neither so your first message looks to me quite harsh when i was just happy (and even recognizing that i could have done better than that ..) no offense taken and please take note that first beer will be for me if we ever meet together somewhere ! take note to that my mojo is : there's always something to learn ... cheers !
