I've got some dough and need to acquire an audible/frefall computer for logging freefall speeds etc. I have no need for a visual alti as I love my Alt-2. I have heard numerous pros/cons for both products and was hoping to hear from a few of you who use, have used, either or both and can give a genuine opinion based on "overall" performance and reliability. Any suggestions? (sound of can opening.....worms!) Anvil Brother #69 Sidelined with a 5mm C5-C6 herniated disk... Back2Back slammers and 40yr old fat guys don't mix!

I started on a used Triathlon 260 with ~300 jumps on er' . I was impressed with the response during turns (toggle & riser). I was also impressed with the forward speed and glide which was accented by the awesome flare/braking ability once it was time to touch down. I don't have significant #'s or experience on ANY canopy. I just know that switching from the student 260 to the Tri was good choice for me. Check with all of the vendors you mentioned and demo each one. Then you can make a decision based upon YOUR experiences. There's half a dozen Tri flyers @ my DZ and everyone loves the versatility that comes with em' . BTW I'm ~280 @ the do! I have the same dillemma Even after gettin' my "A", I still feel awkward wearing a DZ or skydiving shirt away from the DZ because someone may ask if "I" am a skydiver. When asked, I immediately confess that I am a jumper who jumps for fun and that I am in no way someone to ask for advice or "Cool Stories".....Yet! I have several friends/peers who are what I consider "Skydivers". Some are pro-rated demo experts, some are head down record holders, and some are just great people with the heart and spirit of greatness who take the time whenever asked to lend a hand or give advice as it relates to the sport. I skydive, but, am I a skydiver? YES. I just haven't convinced myself of it yet Blue skies, and the next person who disagrees with you when you say that you are, just say "Thank You" and consider the source. Just in case nobody was aware.....they are starting the night jumps @ SD. Although I will only "Spectate", I'm sure it will be a kick in the ARSE to get me "B" for the next round http://www.skydivesandiego.com/applications/eventlistingmanager/inc_eventlistingmanager.asp?ItemID=68 Anvil Brother #69 Sidelined with a 5mm C5-C6 herniated disk... "DITTO!" I read the "RECOMMENDATIONS" and though I am in "Slight" immediate violation (1.09), I feel that I am very comfortable where I'm at W/L wise and will continue on my current loading, until, and only until, those who are much wiser, my self assessment, and abilities deem it is appropriate. After all, the goal is to stay alive and progress, isn't it! Anvil Brother #69 Sidelined with a 5mm C5-C6 herniated disk... Back2Back slammers and 40yr old fat guys don't mix!

Just to letcha know....... A group of scientists in Hong Kong spent five months from October last year measuring 148 ethnic Chinese volunteers aged between 23 and 93. The average length of their flaccid penises was 3.33 inches, which compared favorably with similar studies on other men overseas. Germans have average lengths of about 3.4 inches, Israelis 3.27 inches, Turks 3.07 inches and the French 2.89 inches. Italians were the longest at 3.54 inches, and Americans averaged 3.46 inches. That's all I got to say about that.... Anvil Brother #69 Sidelined with a 5mm C5-C6 herniated disk... Back2Back slammers and 40yr old fat guys don't mix!

I was involved a similar situation this past weekend(nothing like the high-speed pass you mentioned. On two separate jumps I fell considerably faster than my group members and watched them from below. The plan was for me to break @ 6K if we were separated and track in South, I was the only one going in this direction per the plan. When I was @ 6K on the first jump I could see the other 2 members of my group 200ft above me with no hope of them catching back up, or me "floating" back, so I tracked as far as I could 5sec or so, verified my space, and rode it out to 4K when I looked above and pulled. Sky was clear from what I could see, but, I still replay both of those jumps and was curious about what was the "proper" thing to to do. The second jump I noticed that I wasn't going to regroup @ 8K so I tracked even longer. I was disappointed in myself @ the time for not following the plan to break @ 6K and track like a "Mutha". Looking back, I'm pretty sure I did the right thing given the situation. A lot of good info here, but I'll still keep asking to make sure I protect others and not just myself. Thoughts? What were you thinking during your first pull time?
sd-slider replied to ntrprnr's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I did like most and counted once I pulled......BUT!....I had an unusual mal that nobody could have prepared me for..... The dreaded "Slider stuck in the DOWN position" malfunction. I spent 90% of my time under canopy flaring, steering, kicking, etc. trying to clear this mal. No matter what I tried, the slider would not go up where it was supposed to! Then, all of a sudden, I realized that my controllability checks were normal and relaxed enough to start my final approach (spazzed my way through the setup and base leg) and stir up some dust. Some call it fun....I agree! Anvil Brother #69 Sidelined with a 5mm C5-C6 herniated disk... Back2Back slammers and 40yr old fat guys don't mix! -

Adobe Premiere Pro to WMV - Best Practices?
sd-slider replied to sd-slider's topic in Photography and Video
I'm working on a lot of footage from DV sources and no matter what setting I try, there's always some type of lines in the video, or title screens look "mushy". I'm trying to get good clean exports for download (size isn't an issue for .wmv's). Any tips on how to get the best result for "wmv" exports from Premiere pro? BTW - If I export to tape, I can use Windows Movie Maker and get a clean vid. It's a lot of extra work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
