In Australia, this is true I think 100% correct... other common local Aussie slang meanings for something that isn't right or of no use: rat shit or r/s buggered knackered rooted plus some colourful swearing i won't post. So to our non speaking fluent englsih friends when you come to an OZ DZ and mess up something or something isn't working just say "it's rat shit" or it's knackered etc etc.... After five minutes here you will catch on pretty damm quick anyway.. I'm cactus, catch ya later..

That show is really b grade journalism and typical of channel 7 as they chase channel 9 in ratings. They create drama in the media without proper facts.......all here say but yet they have already have Skydive city guilty of everything. Another case of checkbook journalism gone wrong...again.. Hope that reporter paid for her tandem. That report made me cringe at the way they targeted that business.

well i'm no instructer but my very first jump was a tandem.... did the basics before heading over to the plane, final instructions were given to me... plane taxied down the runway, did a turn, pilot was in take off mode down the runway and got about half way and backed off and said that the engine had a misfire!....he turned around to started taxing again to downwind, turned around for takeoff again.... absolutely shitting myself until we exited the plane at 12500... Had video taken and I look like i was had just losst amillion dollars..absolutey blank face! when i got back to the dz i was then informed that another mate who was wwas watching the jump knew the pilot and had set up the joke! wasnt funny at the time especially during the second take off but now all is forgiven! :-) It got me hook, line and sinker! try it! I will work magic! "Blue skys in 2005" !

Hey guys thanks for the replies. You are right, its a 190 not 180. I'll have a rigger inspect next week. maybe abit to hot for me just yet but if it turns out to be in tip top shape i will buy as its a steal at the price offered to me as the guy has left the sport and just wants to close a deal. hes happy to have it inspected beforehand so that will help me greatly. Hi Guys, First post for me........... :-) I'm new to the sport with only 35 jumps and have made a decision to persue further and jump more regularly. No more rental gear!! yea!! I'm looking at buying a PD Saber 180 which has had less than 50 jumps all up. I inspected the gear and everything looks brand new but will get experienced friends to inspect before I buy. The shute was made in '97 and was in storage after the owner was overseas for 6 years. Hasn't been opened for quite some time. It's a bad time of the year to ask experienced jumpers here as everyone I know is away on vacation currently and those that I have asked know little or nothing about this shute type. Here are my basic questions: Anyone own this model? Please advise your experiences, pos or neg. Anything specific that I should be aware of with this main? Does the issue of hard openings that I have seen on forums relate to this model as well? And if so will a larger slider help as with other models I have read about. Any advice on your experiences with this outfit or its long time lack of use will be greatly received so i can follow up with my instructor in Jan, 05. Cheers from Australia.
