All too often mechanics and avionics techs will drop a washer, nut or something else behind the panel, can't retrieve it and you got it, it will come lose during a Zero-G and settle somewhere creating a short.

This must have been short lived, I just checked about a dozen of the domains and they all came right up! Are we looking at host's from Mars or elsewhere? I guess we will have to stop em at the front door of our home DZ. Just keep up the effort!
-
How was the sex? Sounds like iike it wasn't worth the effort....

You gotta admit you asked for it! Yes, only mad people do it and you are one of us!!

Just did a little research for you and found that on one Yahoo search phrase, Skyride has bid $8.00 for the first click and $0.54 for the next. So, that should "show to go ya, " that we are not talking about 10th's of a cent per click, we are talking about $10,000 or more per year in sponsored link web advertising for the Yahoo ad alone!!

Thanks for your effort! Things like this are happening cross the country. Every Skyride link or web page that is dropped helps!
-
Actually it doesn't take that many clicks on a sponsored link to create a bill around $100. If you will invetigate them you will see how much they cost and what it takes to keep it coming up in a competitive envrionment. It is all good!! PULL

Thanks, will look into that !

It is not legal to take copyrited material and use it without the owners permission. Unfortunately, it takes money to obtain and enforce a copyright! Just about everything skyride is doing is unethical but only some of it is illegal. Sometimes you can get web hosts to drop web pages for using stolen material whether it is copyrighted on not. Copyright law has changed in recent years, favoring owners. You might want to explore that and build an argument so web hosts with not allow sites to use your work. www.copyright.gov

Senator, perhaps I should have said, from a practical point of view, there is little that can be done to stop Skyride in a legal forum, since most of us can't afford the legal fee's! Thanx Governor

If you are connected to the interenet by any direct means, Googgle and the other search engines will recognize your IP address and only record one click per day from your computer regardless of how it is done. If you used a modem, you might be able to do what you are saying. But that is not what I am suggesting. Let me say it a different way: Everytime you want to look at your favorite DZ's webpage, search on Google or your favorite search engine using the search phrase "your state skydiving" the example I used was Texas Skydiving. That will return relevant links. Find your favorite DZ's link in the regualr listings and click on it to go to the web site. That helps drive it up in the searches. While you are at it, be sure to find out what is new with Skyride by clicking on the sponsored link on the right or very top of the page. BLue Unz

My days ahead are far fewer than those behind! Clinking a link or two may make the difference in you having a place to take an airplane ride, jump and PULL! Alternatively you can always climb a building, tower or jump out of a tree! Blue Unz

This is a complicated issue affecting all DZ's. To keep it simple, if you click on our sponsored "anti skyride link" we have to pay for your click! Should you click on any sponsored link, even one hosted by your favorite DZ, they have to pay for it! Get it? If you click on a link in the regular pages, it is driven up toward the top statistically. You can influence web presence this way. Blue Unz

You obviously didn't take the time to understand the points of discussion, so why bother responding? But thanks anyway.! Blue Unz

What can we do about Skyride?

check this out.... http://www.funjumper.com/skyride/ This is what I am talking about. There is nothing illegal or unethical about informing prospective tandems/students to be sure they are talking directly to the DZ and not Skyride or another 3rd party. They have sent us tandems from as far as 10 hours away, driving right past DZ's much closer. The students were charged airport taxes, ramp fee's, gear rental etc. Now tell me, who is being unethical? -
Unfortunately there is little we can do to stop Skyride in a legal forum. What they are doing most of the time is not illegal, just disgusting. What we can do is organize on a State by State basis with sponsored links paid for by DZ's and skydivers through PayPal accounts supported by voluntary contributions. This would allow a link from each State to appear nearby the Skyride sponsored links for the purpose of informing "Wuffo" web surfers about the Skyride scam. Google reports the most popular search phrase is the State name in combination with skydiving. For example "Texas Skydving." That phrase will return the regular links for DZ's in the State and sponsored (pay per click links) on the right and very top of the page. If you click on a sponsored link it reduces the funding reserve, which causes the paid link not to appear and increases the cost if they want to keep it coming up. At the same time click on your favorite DZ's regular link (not their sponsored link, if they have one) and help drive them up on the page. On the same pages regular listings, you should see the "The Skyride Scam" link. Click on it too to help drive it to the top. There is little point in sharing Skyride horror stories, lets do something about it! We are in Louisiana and have already started a sponsored SkyRide scam link. Please don't click on it!! Below is the skyride scam link already out there. http://www.funjumper.com/skyride/

One thing that will help is to educate prospective students/tandems about skyride. Search your state name combined with skydiving and they will come up usually as a sponsored link in addition to the standard listing. At some point below, "The Skyride Scam" will show up too. Everyone will click on the sponsored link once per day they use up their money, the link won't come up and will result in them having to pay more for a sponsored link presence. Clicking the Skyride Scam link helps push it to the top. That will help web surfers see it first. YOU CAN ALSO CLICK ON YOUR FAVORITE DZ's LINK and help push it up too.
