Bruno, I have to wonder why jump such a small canopy at such a high wingloading, when the pictures show that you don't seem to be ready. Don't get me wrong, I have respect for you, due to the fact that you jump a 55 square foot canopy, and can land it. That is an accomplishment. But, why jump a such a high performance canopy only to land it straight in. Speed equals lift. Is there really a point other than to be able to say "I jump a 55 loaded at 3.5"?? Lance

lookin kinda good markie. I guess it was inevitable that after hanging around me for all those years, you'd pick up some of my skill Lance

Thats sad. That was one of the coolest/crazyest dropzone's I've ever been too. Is there any Aviation operations still at the airport? Have they begun to develop it, or is it just basically an empty field? Sad to see that an airport that hosted jumping since 1965 (??) is now nothing. If only that piece of land could talk Any one remenber the Caribou's?

I used to have an XRS Javelin. I started out putting a 113R and Stiletto 107 Main, and that fit ok, but alittle tight. I then put a Velocity 90 it in. The Velocity was tight, but fit ok. Lance

Hi, were currently switching our student rigs from ripcord to boc pilot chute. I've seen a various DZ's, kind of a wide belt, with a spandex pouch sewed on the back. This is used when training students, to simulate about where the pilot chute will be located. I was wondering if any one knew where to purchase these? I'd image there pretty easy to make, but it would be nice to have something to go on. Any and all info is greatly appreciated. Thanks Lance

What do your parents think of your skydiving?
Skydive2 replied to andy2's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My mom's the same way. she hates the fact that I jump smaller canopies, and do hook turns. One weekend she kept telling me "no hook turns" over and over. Finally after the last load she walked out of the manifest and said "that's it, your not getting a smaller canopy, and your grounded this week" (not from jumping, but from going out with friends and stuff like that). I was 16 at the time, so what could I do. But the next weekend it was back to hook turns. She finally given up on stopping me, but she doesn't like it. Kinda funny, most 16 year olds get grounded for sneaking out at night and stuff, I get grounded for doing hook turns...oh well -
Wow, its looks great. I've got around a thousand jumps out of that airplane. Its the fastest -20 powered king air I've ever jumped, by far! Man, I'm going to miss it! Take good care of her!

What do your parents think of your skydiving?
Skydive2 replied to andy2's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well...my mom's got 70 jumps, dads got 3500 (and still jumps), grandfather has 1500 (and still jumps), and my grandmother has 120 or so, and I've got over 1000 in about 2 1/2 year's...so no one really cared. They'd probability be more worried if I didn't Jump Lance -
Takes me about 5 minutes to pack my Velocity 90. About 12-15 for a strong tandem. I've Probability got around 3500 pack jobs or so. Lance

Buying new risers from the manufacturer will usually take a while. I was looking for a new pair for a friend of mine, and the 3 big container manufacturers that I called all said it would be about a 2-3 week wait, because they don't normally keep stuff like that on the shelf. Fortunately, Sunpath had 1 pair on the self that I was able to get. Other wise I was looking at a LONG wait Lance

Hello Relative Workshop!!!
Skydive2 replied to crapflinger2000's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I went through the same thing with Relative Workshop not to long ago. I was ordering risers for a buddy of mine, and after 3-4 phone calls (with NO one returning my calls), I finally got them ordered. Still going to take 3 weeks to make them. I called sunpath, and they next dayed me a pair of risers on the first call. I still have the Relative Workshop risers on order, but haven't got them yet Lance -
I don't know if this is the right forum, but I figured that airplanes could be considered part of our gear so here goes...

Well that answered that Lance

How many jumpsuits or skydiving outfits do you have?
Skydive2 replied to Jessica's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
In over 1000 jumps in 3 years, I've only owned 2 suits. Both Michigan freefly pants. The first pair I jumped until they blew apart (literally, I was tracking away from a freefly, and the right leg blew clean off in freefall, but they had 500 jumps, and numerous tears so I'm not complaining), then I got my new pair which I still have (probability over 500 jumps on them as well). I even got my AFF rating in my Michigan freefly pants, and a baggy long sleeve shirt. Maybe one day, I'll own a real suit but the pants are great for now Lance http://www.parachutesarefun.com -
I was checking out the FAQ section, and seeing how many posts it takes to get from Newbie to Enthusiast and so on. that made me think, does anyone have the Geronimo (for 10,000 or more posts) I've only seen one person (aggie dave) that has the geronimo, anyone else? Anyone wanna claim the most posts on DZ.com? Just kinda wondering Lance http://www.parachutesarefun.com

I'm in need of another camera suit, and I'm debating between a few things. 99% of the video's I do are Tandem/AFF. I'm looking for something with a big wing, but can't make up my mind if I want just a jacket or the whole suit? Also, what suit manfactuer would you recommend. I had a Tony C-Wing jacket a one time, and I was not real happy with it. Any other suggestions? The cheaper the better Blue skies Lance Skydive Maryland

I'm getting setup to do video (again), and I was wondering if anyone knew where to get the best price on a Canon Rebel 2000 is? B & H I'm assuming? Also, what len's would everyone recommend? I'm thinking of getting a 24mm or just leaving the standard 28-80mm lens on it. Suggestions? Thanks!! Blue skies Lance Skydive Maryland

I'm setting up my new Rawa, with a Canon Rebel 2000 on top. I was wondering what is the best quick release mount out there for the still camera? I'm debating between the Stroboframe http://www03.bhphotovideo.com/default.sph/FrameWork.class?FNC=ProductActivator__Aproductlist_html___52735___STQRC___REG___CatID=0___SID=F033E35CE30 or the Velbon http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bh3.sph/FrameWork.class?FNC=ParentActivator__Aproduct_html___CatID=404___SID=F4D727BAC10 Any on have anything good/bad to say about either? Any better one's? I'm kinda leaning toward the Stroboframe, but would like some suggestions first. Blue skies Lance
