  1. Yep, that about sums it up! Hackey
  2. Damn!!!! I may have to come out of retirement so I can get that record back!! LOL!! Congrats to all the new record holders!! I wonder what the record is going to be by the end of this summer! Hackey
  3. There you got a small taste of why I left that place. I also don't like the way they put students under ultra high performance parachutes from the first level and send them up in 14 mph winds. I have a titanium plate in my ankle to show for that. Hackey
  4. Hey, I said go OUT with a bang not go IN with a bang...LOL Hackey
  5. I still will. I live in Skokie (soon to be moving to Morton Grove)...give me a call...847-967-8071. Oh, by the way, I may be doing a "farewell to the sport" jump or a "retirement" jump if you will out at Skydive Illinois and I would love for you to be a part of it. I'm going to set it up with video and make it nice so I can go out with a bang. I think I might wait for a little warmer weather for that. In any case, give me a call. Hackey
  6. Actually, I do know a couple who is planning a skydiving wedding this spring. Send me a pm and I'll see if I can hook you up. Hackey
  7. When you get yours you're gonna love the ceremony that goes with it...hehehe Hackey
  8. I have an idea...let's see how many variations we could make...there's slappy, slapy, slapie, slappee, slapee, slappey, slapey, etc. j/k Slappie. Hackey
  9. It's great that you're so cool about it. It shows a lot of class! Hackey
  10. LMMFAO!!!! That is freaking hilarious!! Hackey
  11. ROFLMMFAO!!!!! You tell 'em man! Nothing personal, Scottish John. I think Scottishjohn would be a great nick for you. I looked at a post this morning by "Slappy" and saw "Newbie" next to it and thought "wtf !!" until it occured to me that it's not the Slappie we all know and love. It is confusing. Hackey
  12. Amen brother! You are the one, the only, the original slappie. That name is taken, even if his is spelled a little differently he should find another one. Hackey
  13. I plan to renew my uspa membership when it comes up for renewal in November so I can keep my options open. I don't know what the future holds but I do know there won't be any skydiving for at least the next year, beyond that it's hard to say, but I'm about 99.9% sure I'm done. Hackey
  14. Actually, I've already had someone ask me if I'm selling my gear. Well, I haven't totally decided on that....I may just keep it in storage for now. If I do decide to sell it, I'll post it here in the classifieds. Hackey
  15. Agreed. Sometimes the right choice isn't the easiest one to live with. Hackey
  16. Well, like the subject line says, I have good news and bad news. The good news is my wife and I are buying a house. The bad news....because of increased financial commitments that come with the purchase of this house, and the need to spend more time with my teenage daughter, I'm forced to announce my departure from the sport of skydiving. It really kills me to have to do it, but it is for the best. However,( a la Michael Jordan..LOL) I'm not slamming the door shut completely. Who knows, maybe some day I'll be able to return to the sport but for the forseeable future it's not in the cards. I'm going to truly miss the sport and all the great people that go with it. I know I'm going to be looking up at the sky on those warm summer days wishing I was up there. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do, and right now I need to refocus my priorities. I can't say thanks enough to all my skydiving friends for all the friendship that you've shown me. You will all be my friends always...I may have to give up the sport but I will not turn my back on my friends. In the future, the best way to reach me is at hackey47@hotmail.com. You always have a friend in the Chicago area. Blue skies!! Hackey
  17. At Skydive Chicago all the students are flying sabre 2's which fly pretty similar to a stilletto. Hackey
  18. I agree. I go to Farmer. He's good and he does the little extra things for you, and he doesn't rip you off on price. Definitely worth the trip to Morris. However, he's not officially working at Skydive Illinois anymore, so if you want send me a pm and I'll hook you up with his phone number. Hackey
  19. You should have seen the 300 way attempts at Skydive Chicago! The sky was completely filled with canopies!! Hackey
  20. In a nutshell, you copy what you want to quote, type [ q u o t e ] (without the spaces of course), paste your quote and then behind it type [ / q u o t e ] again without spaces. Hackey
  21. Ok, it worked! I think what the problem was is when I copied and pasted it i left a space after the .jpg. Anyway, thanks for your help! Now I don't look like I've been squished! Hackey
  22. I got an error message returned...it said "improper file type"....maybe I should email HH about this one. Hackey
  23. Yeah, I got that far, but it has to be posted on the web first. My current picture is at http://www.dropzone.com/files/users/3b49fab0585cb6e0.jpg How do I replace it? Hackey
  24. How do I upload a new picture for my profile on dropzone.com? Hackey
