    1775: Founding of the Marine Corps A legacy is born During the American Revolution, many important political discussions took place in the inns and taverns of Philadelphia, including the founding of the Marine Corps. A committee of the Continental Congress met at Tun Tavern to draft a resolution calling for two battalions of Marines able to fight for independence at sea and on shore. The resolution was approved on November 10, 1775, officially forming the Continental Marines. As the first order of business, Samuel Nicholas became Commandant of the newly formed Marines. Tun Tavern’s owner and popular patriot, Robert Mullan, became his first captain and recruiter. They began gathering support and were ready for action by early 1776. Each year, the Marine Corps marks November 10th with a celebration of the brave spirit which compelled these men and thousands since to defend our country as United States Marines.     I understand how you feel. Last week I got my Yamaha R1 out of the shop (after adding a Power Commander III, with dyno fuel mapping, a new rear tire, new stator, & suspension tuning). I had to drive in bumper-to-bumper traffic all the way home. Then it rained the rest of the week. I did get to ride 100 miles Saturday morning to Skydive Atlanta. But had to ride the 100 miles Sunday afternoon in the rain. BTW- Avoid riding in the rain on brand new tires Skymama stalker #69!!!!

    I have not dropped a bike in years. But.......been there, done that. In fact, I have so many friends with bikes, I keep old blinkers & use them for spare parts (I use aftermarket blinkers because they are tougher, & brighter). Skymama stalker #69!!!!

    :8:0 I saw a jumper with about 150 jumps (a jumper that I trained when he was on AFF) Land while "dragging toe." I was quite proud. I must remember to set a good example, because students & young jumpers try to be like their instructors. Very good Charlie. Just remember to start the landing from the PLF position.     My father, when he was in the U.S. Navy (back in the 1970s) had Harriers on his ship. I loved them back then. We had a few provide air support during Desert Storm. I hope the F-35s last as long as the AV-8 Skymama stalker #69!!!!

    Nope, they are not responsible for objects coming from the road. The same reason a dump truck does not have to pay for the windshield of a car that was following too close. I must quote this. Let's say you throw a rock or bearing into someones windshield. Where did the rock come from? Yes that's rhetorical but you're not an idiot as best I can tell. The breaking of the window was a deliberate and unsafe action. I don't like tailgaters in my truck let alone my moto, but tossing a rock or bearings are dangerous. PS, Rolls of pennies are easier to explain than a pocket of bearings. If you drop a rock or a ball bearing, it hits the road. Then you are not responsible if someone is following so close that they could not avoid it. Pennies do not bounce high enough. I am not talking about throwing them at someone's windshield. Mearly dropping them. Skymama stalker #69!!!!

    Yep, a few times. Washer fluid, as well. Although, I usually ride far enough behind someone that I can avoid them. I once pulled up next to a convertable, on a multi-lane road, at a red light & had a ciragette bound off of my chest. I yelled, "Hey!" at the guy. But all he did was shrug his shoulders & reply, "What are you going to do about it?" I picked up the butt & tossed it in his back seat just as the light turned green. He had to pull over & get out of the car to retrieve it. Friends of mine carry ball bearings or rocks in the pockets of their riding jackets for the tail gaters. Skymama stalker #69!!!!
