Hey! Hey! Hey!! What are you calling shit??? I ride a Ducati 749. I love it but I do not commute much on it. Frankly it is not the most comfortable bike in the world. He does have a good point, I had a 97 honda cbr 600 before and it had 21k miles and ran like a champ. I also have a SV650S. They say it is pretty good for commuting. Mine is a track/race bike so I wouldn't know about commuting on it. JAMES

You will out grow a 250 quickly. I would suggest something a tad bit bigger but stay within your comfort level. Buy used so when you drop it, it doesn't hurt as much. Ride it for a year or two and then upgrade to something else. Suzuki SV650's are great starter bikes and you can mod the hell out of them to keep them exciting and new. I recently picked one up for a track bike. (FAR from stock) It's no "crusier" but still will meet what you are looking for. JAMES

Sounds like way to much drama for a surf session. I say go, tell the cool chick, that the others are giving off some bad vibes so you are gunna go surf on your own, but ask her to join you some time.
