You should get a drysuit...120 feet in Cali is drysuit territory...and DUI makes a piss valve that is pressure compensating I believe...maybe its a Halcyon, don't remember. Everyone who voted to disband the BASE zone - your IP's should be banned...and you shouldn't care, because you feel this place shouldn't exist in the first place. And if you do care, then you are a hypocrite, or a liar, or both. And you should be banned again for being full of shit. edit to add: After thinking about this more, I believe many of the votes to disband this board are non-BASE friendly skydivers...the one's who hate BASE because we "leave our dead behind" and get pissed because some dude wanted to flik a balloon at the WFFC. I opened up the 185 footer last night. I wasn't necessarily thrilled with the shuffle on the wet steel out to the tip of the boom... I was solo, and I don't think I've ever felt as alone. I had written out a narrative, but I erased it. I'm sure everyone remembers being on top of something somewhere in the dark by themselves for the first time. Probably...it so damn hard to get horizontal movement HU that is completely untrue... it may be easier to close the gap headdown...but I prefer a lot of time to stay on my feet for less than oceanic size distances So, small distances (the gap) are easier to close head down. Large distances (oceanic) are easier to cover headdown, the largest freefly records are headdown, but what I wrote is completely untrue? Did you even read what you wrote before you hit reply? Amazing what some sun and 7x binoculars do for your vision... All 3 cranes I've been scoping have some kind of little ledge going down one side of the boom with a safety wire above it...I was positive two of them didn't, but sure enough, they do. All 3 have the operator booth off to the side...two have open access through the middle, one I can't get the angle to tell without accessing the construction site first. Three jumpable cranes within a 15 minute drive. Life just got more interesting. I'm letting WorldSoCold choose between these two exit points tonight. I guess its a hammerhead crane. I don't have keys to anything, so if I have access to the booth it's pure luck. This platform at the tip "seems" like there should be some way to get to it...but I see no mesh flooring as I do around the ballast boom. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
