  2. 78.36 years according to that, although I don't expect to live past 30 anyway. Remember that the oldest women alive smokes 10 cigs a day and has been doing so since she was in her twenties.
  3. Thanks man, thats awnsered it exaclty. I've always wondered why none Catholics celebrate St. Patricks day. I understand the Irish movement from Boston to New York in the early 1900's, just didn't understand why everyone else celebrated it. I thought it might have been some religous reason I've totally missed or something. In England we have a St. Patricks Day as well, but not a St. Georges Day? Niether does Scotland celebrate St. Andrews Day, neither the Welsh St. Davids???
  4. I can understand why you would celeberate if your a strict Irish Catholic, but I don't understand why Christian Americans celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Is it just an excuse to get wasted? If so, why not celebrate St. Andrew's, St. David's or St. George's day as well. After all the pilgrims were separatists from England and were Christians? Not having a go or anything, just wondering. Am I being really stupid and missing something?
  5. I'm a total newbie, so what I know you could write on the back of a stamp. I've seen my Father die of cancer in front of me when I was 11 years old, both my grandfathers died before I was born, both my grandmothers died around the same time as my father, my uncle has a serious heart condition and I know that if nothing else will kill me it will be one of either cancer or heart failure. I'm 23 and haven't had chicken pox yet. If I get it in later life it may kill me. I am well aware of the reality of death. There are only a few things I wanted to do in life that are:- 1.Swim with Dolphins 2.Chase a Tornado 3.Do a skydive 4.Go into space I've done three of those and I doubt I'll get to do the fourth in my life time. I LOVE this planet, its awesome, theres always something interesting happening and I'd hate to leave it, but the inevitable will happen. At least with skydiving you have a rough idea of how you might die and therefore can prepare as much as possible to avoid it, thats more warning than most people get. The warning most people get is "mind that bus", "what bus" SPLATT!!! I've always said to myself from a very young age that I would do anything to be able to fly for one day, so I'm willing to risk my life for it. I'm not sure that I would want to give my life for it, but I can think of a million worse ways to go than in doing something you love. Its important to remember that everyone dies, not everyone lives. So, yes if I knew I was going to die from it, so be it. In any case your statistically FAR more likely to die driving, but have you stopped doing that?
  6. Totally agree. Any form of controlled expression can be considered art.
  7. Dude, can you post any manuscript's you've composed, I'd like to see what sort of classical music you write
  8. Graduated from Brighton University two years ago, BA (Hons) 2.1 - Music Production. Been writing and producing for a few years now. Study all genres of music and have been playing the guitar since I was 6, bass since I was 15, drums since I was 18, piano (only tincle with chord progreesions, mainly for writing), turnatable instrumentalist since I was 13, been in a few local competitions (usually juggling category).
  9. A video like that is Gold Dust for newbies like me. Helps us to see what sort of things we might need to do in later jumps. You definitely looked like you were in control the hole time and enjoying yourself. Thanx for the post.

    Cats or Dogs?

Not tried the Poll thing yet, so I'd thought I'd give it a try
  19. I'm confused over some peoples priorities. The amount of pollution caused by vehicle exhausts is FAR more of a threat to public health than second-hand smoke. Its bad enough in London. Walking down Oxford Street on a busy Saturday afternoon, for 1 hour is the equivalent of smoking 10 cigarettes in a row. I imagine that is it is much worse in the larger American cities like New York and LA.
  20. I'm with you on that one buddy. Although I don't do it anymore, I still understand why people enjoy doing it, I'd still do it if it wasn't for the health risks. Some people choose coffee to relax or beef. Others choose to smoke and bars are the traditional place to do that.
  21. I understand where your coming from. However, I have a BA (Hons) in Music Production and have been righting music for a number of years. I don't ever expect to "make it" being a songwriter, musician or performer, it just a hobby to write. I give a lot of my material out to people I think might enjoy it for free. Music like all art is a for of self-expression and I'm just happy that people enjoy listening to my material. Sometimes people offer to pay me for copies, I refuse every time (unless its a beer or something). I'd be happy to send anyone something I've done for free, I just hope they enjoy it
  22. If I was REALLY desperate I'd consider listening to a Celine Dion record, all the way through without vomiting blood.
  23. Quit smoking all sorts of stuff about a year ago. I have absolutely no desire to spark up ever again, but I still LOVE the smell of smoke. Reminds me of happier days .
