  1. In reply to the last one, i meant bannnig swooping as shooting ourselves in the foot, i think the separation idea is great.
  2. Well if you discourage those experienced jumpers to leave the sport because they can't do the thing they do ti for then thats less jumpers to bring tandems with them
  3. Fair point, and maybe being a swooper he is biased, i do not know, i do not swoop myself, especially with my very low jumpers, but, if what he says is true, if, then heaven knows what will happen to our sport. I mean whats next after that? Big assumtion but a possibility IMHO.
  4. Yet skydiving has less accidents than skyiing and scuba yet there are more participants in those sports? I can only speak from what ive seen but I can think of several experienced jumpers who ahve encouraged friends to doa tandem.
  5. Oooohhh what a good video, both look really sexy and alike!!!! Had trouble deciding who was who. Gotta be shakira tho, just more sultry IMHO. Beyonce anyone?
  6. Just read the new article on the homepage, ok am only a newbie but maybe what Brian Germain said is totally correct; JUST my IMHO. 1. If skydiving population is in decline, why alienate and ban more? 2. Swooping is a great publicity tool to attract new people. 3. Experienced jumpers bring in tandems with them etc etc. 4. Personal choice. Agreed it is trajic when innocent people are killed, adn maybe economic/ location reasons prevent the creation of separate landing areas at some DZ's/ but surely why are we shooting ourself in the foot? Long live swooping, maybe they might ban skydiving all together!!!! Is this wrong?
  7. to piss of my then girlfriend Nah lol, erm was interested in the army parachute reg and thought rather stupidly "hey maybe i can get a head start"! - then was hooked. turns out i now dont wanna join the army but got this!!!
  8. Grrrr its killing. but worth it. Anyone quitting at this time? one thing i always find its more the fear of "ill never be able to quit" and belief in oneself that one cannot do so which is the hardest to overcome!!! Way of keep going - every bit of money you would have spent on fags im gna put into a jump pot!"!!
  9. call me grumpy but wouldn't a more potent question be what effect will this have on skydiving's public image if it goes wrong? Selfish isn't it? I mean most think we are nuts as it is let alone more potentially bad publicity. I could be wrong though.
  10. I agree police academy ONE was probably the best, the others just spin offs which bcame tedious. Hot fuzz was rly gd except the ending. bit too silly for me personally but it did sum up he PC brigade very well
  11. very fair point, although it is hard to alwasy get along with whuffos i have kept most of then as rly gd friends and reguarly see 10-12 good cloe mates who aren't jumpers. I guess it is easy to become too wrapped up in certaint hings and neglect other vitally other important ones. Good poinit mate
  12. Hey, I think i read something on this before but not sure, do you ever find yourself moving away from whuffo's cos they just dont understand jumping regardless of how hard one tries to explain it? Ive given up now and just go "good weekend" lol, or have you lost all whuffo mates and keep in touch with just skydiving friends>

  16. It says the minimum opening height for A licence jumpers and above is 2000ft. does that mean you have to open and be under canopy by then or is that the lowest you can pull ur PC? Thanks!!! edit - not that i plan on opening that low, just curious as to the meaning o the wording. (normal pull alti is 3-3.5k)
  17. Melissa theariau. definately, - she doesn't look like a fucknig barbie doll like the rest. LOL. but hey they are all hot
  18. 4:0 3 way, 2 2ways, and my FS1 dive!! (4 way) Got it at last
  19. Ahhh right. Thankyou for the explanation. Mike
  20. Please forgive this intrusion, i am not a base jumper. If the report said wind was a factor in casuing the entanglement, then I was wondering how that does not happen to pilot chutes in skydiving since altitude winds can be very high? Sorry for the question bout skydiving just curious as to how the pilot chutes, unless thrown poorly in skydiving, don;t entangel with the body also? Deepest condolences to friends and family of the deceased. Thankyou, Mike
