Dublin Ireland, Places to stay and things to see?
warpedskydiver replied to Thanatos340's topic in The Bonfire
Stay away from the girls, I hear they are pretty and love to have sex... -
That could have been ugly Has any jumper been struck by a. Non jup ac?
-
Yep. People also forget where the worlds largest volcano is.

Fire and Ice shield is your friend. I installed it from the edge to eight feet up. However with all the snow we had the last two months and the freeze thaw; I had water dripping in around the roof vents. So as soon as the roof is clear and dry I am going to use a few tubes of roofing cement/caulk and do the perimeters of each one. They were all properly flashed, but the water was pooling and wicked its way in. I found a few spots on the ceilings in one bedroom and in the closet. They are dry now but I am going to have to address the problem very soon.

Agreed.

Yep! When New Madrid has a big one the loss of life will dwarf will be horrible. It will make Haiti look like a vacation. That reminds me, hey who wants to go to Yellowstone for the Big One?
-
Pssst... Illinois is next to the New Madrid fault. Many other smaller fault lives run through it. Look at some of them, you will see a pattern. You know the rivers we have?? Yep... How do you think Reelfoot lake was created? Did you know the last huge quake on the New Madrid the Mississippi, Missouri and Ohio rivers ran backwards for a little while?

No, you have a radio and can listen to traffic in order to be AWARE.
-
100% disagree. 1-fly the airplane 2-look outside 3-navigate 4-talk on the radio. this coming from a 1000hr com/ins/multi/gli pilot who lost his bes friend to possibly someone not paying attention. the radio means 5% of what looking around does. Calvin, I understand, but the radio is just one part of the requirement to be aware. Whether or not it played a role was not what I was debating. I think that in all aviation radios are a plus. Eyes and a head on a swivel are just one of several methods to ensure safety. If any pilot fails to see something, should they be unaware of the danger posed? Radios provide a way to give someone a heads up on trouble. If radios had no use they would not be installed in any aircraft.

Survivor Puled from Rubble in Haiti -- After 27 Days!!
warpedskydiver replied to Gawain's topic in The Bonfire
I was not inferring that this was a truly astounding story of survival. It is great they were rescued. I am just not going to be surprised when people start claiming they were rescued after this point. Greed knows no shame. -
Flying without comms is as stupid as jumping and not looking where others are. Someone will die.

Survivor Puled from Rubble in Haiti -- After 27 Days!!

I wonder how long it will be before someone crawls into the rubble to be "rescued" then sell their story to the tabloids and talk shows? -
It has something to do with space junk as well, there is now so much crap up there they need to ensure there will not be a shotgun effect as it flies into orbit. Otherwise it will look like opening day of goose season.

As someone who has lost a great many friends I can understand how you feel, it never gets easy. Just relish the memories you have and go on living life to its fullest, you are living your dreams for both of you now. Someday when you pass on the example you set forth through this and the rest of your days will show people how to live. Be an example to be proud of.

Help me NOT pay for my daughters wedding!
warpedskydiver replied to vskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Pssst, he would rather just bash your kid than to think that maybe it would be a nice start for them and to wish them well. Some people are just that way, can't be nice to anyone but themselves. -
ACK! Ft. Sill, I was there and I ran into a chick we ALL knew from Germany, she was nice and remembered us. We all took her home. She was the only pretty girl in the place. *Note to others, strippers who are butt ugly and ones who smell of kimchee are not going to earn much money.
-
POLKA! I don't want he,r you can have her, she's too fat for me.... The idea gives me nightmares. I once went to a bachelor party and the stripper showed up. Well, she was not the chick in the advertisement, in fact it looked like she had just eaten the other girl whole. It looked like a walrus flipping around on the carpet. I had to leave, I am not dissing girls who have a few extra pounds, but let's face it, stripping might not be the ideal occupation for you.

please critique my law school personal statement
warpedskydiver replied to spiccoli's topic in The Bonfire
You're talking about "a" pre-teen (singular) and for some reason; I'm thinking it needs a semicolon to read as: This pitted the word of a respected teacher against a troubled pre-teen; who could not even recount the event without shaking. With the administration against him, my cousin had to put all trust and hope in a lawyer. That would be correct because both parts could stand on their own as a sentence. -
I made roast beef Mashed potatoes & gravy Green Beans Corn There was supposed to be some brownies but they never got made (wasn't my job)

I loved watching Cantona and his team mates play a darby match. United is the best team there ever was. I don't have my jersey anymore, former GF wore it and never gave it back.

If colored go with powder coating. easy to do and protects very well. Hey you could even parkerize some of the parts, it looks pretty cool or makes an excellent base for the coatings.
