I moved to this DZ after getting tired of the slow turnaround and lack of a social scene at Weston. The facilities are fine, you can usually get coaching, they throw some awesome parties and as long as you don't mind saying hello first pretty much everyone is lovely. Oh and the view from up top is great! I drive out of my way to go to this DZ. Don't listen to the bad reviews (which sound like they were written by the same person). Come and make up your own mind.

If the images are good quality and the prices reasonable then I'd be prepared to pay for them. I'm not selling or promoting any skydiving activity (and I ive in the UK so skyride isn't something I've heard of). I just want to create a place for people who love thiis sport to meet. Not the same as dropzone.com before anyone pipes up with that comment!

Firstly (and I'm replying to everyone here), there's nothing rude about asking (politley) if anyone has any pictures they wouldn't mind being used. Secondly I've never stated that the pictures need to be professional so to those of you who are getting your knickers in a twist thinking that I want to use your services for free I say simply 'don't send me any then!' Thirdly I've only just picked up my IM's. Funnily enough I don't spend my entire life in front of the computer. Fourthly. So f**king what if I posted my request on here more than once? I wanted as many people to see it as possible and I've had some really nice, polite people get back to me. Fithly I live in the UK and don't even know what 0800-skyride is. The purpose of my site is for people who are into the sport to be able to meet other people with similar interestes. And lastly don't tell me that Dropzone.com already does that because I'm not talking about the same thing. If you don't like the idea of me using your images then don't send me any. I never said you'd get nothing out of it as I'm more than happy to give credit where it's due and add links to other sites. I'm just not rolling in cash at the moment and trying to start a business from scratch isn't the easiest thing in the world to do. I was hoping for a little support from those who share the same passion as me but all you guys have done so far is waste your time (and mine - I ve had to read your unhelpful posts) having a go at me. I fully appreciate that you're professional camera men/women and had you emailed me and stated you have images but they are for sale only we could have maybe discussed things further (depending onthe quality of your work). You chose not to do that. Rant over.

I'd happily share my idea but I've searched the internet and no one else has had it yet so I'm not keen to share in case someone nicks it. I have asked for images of other sports and disciplines too and have paid for a fair few already. If you're not comfortable letting me use your images then that's fine. I just thought I'd see if anyone here had anything they were cool about sharing. After all if you don't ask...
-
Well at least I have the decency to ask. Most people would simply take your images and stick two fingers up at you in the process.

Hi I'm setting up a website and need some decent images of skydiving (all disciplines) to use on it. If anyone has any they wouldn't mind me using can you please send them to alanaos@hotmail.com Also looking for decent images of other extreme sports so if you have any good-uns send those too. I'm happy to give credits and links to your sites but can't afford to pay for images at the moment. Many thanks!!! Alana

I'm settijng up my own business (not selling anyones pictures in case you all get worried). Can't give the site address out yet as it isn't finished but I'll post it on here as soon as it is. As for 'stealing' other peoples images - it's not my cup of tea. This sport costs us all enough money as it is with out ripping eachother off.
-
What makes you think it's going to be a casual website? I don't recall saying that.
-
Thanks honey. I wont photoshop you if you don't send any naked ones! ;-)

Hello I've been talked into spending 10 days (and nights) in September walking, eating, drinking and sleeping in a Brazilian Rainforest to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. As I just love bugs, snakes and spiders this one is going to be fun. Hmmm. The only reason I agreed to it is that I can hopefully do some skydiving in Brazil when I'm finished! If I'm not eaten alive first! I would really appreciate it if you could sponsor me please. See the link below to my online sponsorship form: http://www.bhf.org.uk/sponsor/alana/ Many many thanks Alana. x x x

Cheers. You're not so bad yourself!

From one Alana to another! Great thread - perfect for killing some time while I'm sat at my desk in the office! I don't have any skydiving pics yet but there are some from my NY in Chamonix and my friends birthday here.

A shaved head is v. sexy A naturally hairless one isn't so hot. Friar Tuck comb overs should be illegal! I think if a man is getting thin on top he should just take it all off. No one is fooled by thickening conditioners and careful hairstyling!

The nerves will go away again right?
Alanaos replied to Punky_Monkey's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi I'm pretty new at this sport and like you was a little nervous in the door. Then one of my instructors played me back a video of myself in the door and I saw how weak my exit looked. After that I figured that as I was going to jump anyway I might as well do it with a bit of panache. It's the best thing I ever did. I love the exit now even though I still feel the fear. Oh and don't worry about dive exits, they got me doing them on my level 5 AFF and they're the best. It's much easier to get stable from a dive exit (at least I think so). Happy jumping this weekend and remember to give it your all in the door! -
I'll be at weston on the day with my camera out hoping to catch some of the more 'interesting' landings etc. If we manage to raise a fair amount I'll post the best pictures up here for all to see!

Hi I just thought I'd introduce myself! I passed my level 8 AFF on Monday with only 2 repeats (level 3 & 5)! Can't wait to crack on with more jumps over the summer here in lovely England! Alana
