  1. https://abcnews.go.com/amp/International/top-ukrainian-general-discusses-war-russia-putins-nuclear/story?id=91989074 Interesting take from one of Ukraine’s top generals. The nuclear threat is real but I’d be surprised if Putin destroyed the dam, at least in the immediate future. The water supply to Crimea would be taken out if he did. He might do it later on, in much the same way that Saddam Hussein lit oil wells on fire as he retreated in the first gulf war.
  2. I’m not trying to get anything to “work” on you and I didn’t call you any names. I made an observation as to your style of debate. I’ve read this thread.
  3. You’re using a creedence song to support your position. You debate like a child, or a teenager at best.
  4. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna53369 Not sure if it was a legally purchased firearm and 2A protected but damn.
  5. Understandable sentiment when looking at “baby” stars that are maybe five times as old as homosapiens. At least in our corner of the ‘verse we can know we made a difference. We’ll have created quite a layer of cow & chicken fossils to mark the anthropocene.
  6. Hubble vs Webb. Reality is quite informative when viewed in lower wavelengths.
  7. He already told you what to expect.
  8. https://www.npr.org/2022/10/19/1130026636/californias-gas-prices-top-6-a-gallon-in-october Caught this on the commute to work this morning, while using about 4/10 of a gallon in the prius. I paid $5.89/gal two days ago in San Carlos, about 10 miles north of PA. It seems our gas is the cleanest, but we're a little like Texas with their power grid in that our gasoline market is sort of separate from the rest of the country, and therefore subject to more volatility. We may also be getting ripped off. We almost voted for even higher prices back in 2018.
  9. Full segment for anyone interested
  10. I caught that segment too. That last guys story was heart wrenching. The bear deserves every poke it gets.
  11. What kind of mileage can it get?
  12. Come on. You know you love getting that braking energy back.
  13. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-63247287.amp Several of the missiles fired on civilians were from S-300 batteries which are formidable air defense weapons but not terribly accurate on ground targets. I’m pretty sure they didn’t affect Ukrainian air assets at all.
  14. Yep. While Putin is wasting the cruise missiles he has left on neighborhoods the Ukrainians continue to creep along the Dnieper river, and long queues of Russians try to leave Crimea. With each settlement that is retaken new evidence of civilian torture and murder is uncovered. Negotiations? Yeah right. Putin can end this by leaving Ukraine, or continue to fertilize the sunflower fields with conscripts.
  15. Tell Putin, not us. He could end this tomorrow.
  16. Again, how do you propose to end the war?
  17. Just checked Fox News website and no word about any of this or Putin’s attacks today. All domestic and cultural stuff. So interesting to switch realities.
  18. https://nypost.com/2022/10/10/video-shows-kyiv-bridge-exploding-in-missile-attack/amp/ I like how the guy on the bridge finished his Instagram post or whatever before he ran off the bridge. Tough people in Kiev.
  19. https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-kyiv-government-and-politics-8f625861590b9e0dd336dabc0880ac8c All civilian targets of no strategic value. Gained no ground. No effect on enemy fighting capability. Pissed off enemy more. Yep, Putin’s running the army now.
  20. Yeah but they plan to build again in the same areas that were most devastated. Hopefully they’ll build back better like Babcock ranch.
  21. Ow. My neck. Stop changing the subject so quickly.
  22. Who’s guessing? I’m glad you appropriately labeled Putin a warmonger though. Appeasing him to get him to stop being one is the same as handing the school bully your lunch money in hopes that he’ll stop bullying. The US killed far more with conventional weapons firebombing Tokyo btw, but if you want to discuss WW2 you should probably start a different thread.
  23. So Ukraine attacks infrastructure used by Russia to support their war effort and three people were killed. You call it a terrorist act. Russia (or Putin, as you rightly point out) attacks an apartment building in Zaporizhzhia, killing 17. You call it an escalation but not a terrorist act. Brilliant analysis.
