I knew I wanted to do it, so went straight for AFF. Not having done a tandem, I can't comment on how it feels, but I imagine you get more of a rush jumping out the door and pulling yourself, even if 2 instructors are holding onto you tighter than a wrestler climbing greasy pole.

Now that you have jumped once, the worst is over forever... The next step is even more fun, learning how to fly your own body. Haha! I was more scared on my second jump than my first - reckon my mind knew what was going to happen! Great write up dude, only just finished my AFF - you've captured the feeling well :)

Well, This is the only DZ I've been to, as I did my AFF there. What can I say? Everyone was amazingly friendly, made me welcome (thats the instructors, manifest staff, other jumpers, the DZ staff and the bar staff, Cedric over in the Matter shop and indeed anyone that was hanging around!)and the manifest, in my extremely limted experience, seemed to be super organised: Loads were constantly going up (2 porters and 1 twin otter), as soon as the sun poked its nose out, the manifest staff were mic's at the ready... :) That and they had a King Air there for easter. What a great plane. The bunkhouse is great, although the matresses could do with being a bit comfy-er, and was 12 Euro's/night over easter. I believe it goes up to 15 Euro's in the summer. Still well worth it. I had a great time, thanks to all there :)

Well, it a relief to see all you peeps say this! It took me 16 jumps to get through my AFF; I was running out of time and cash to finish the AFF course in the 12 days I had in spain. I extended by a day, and lost that day to the dreaded Montana. However, morning of the last day was spot on for jumping, did the Level 7, didn't pass it. Gutted. Was ready to give up. My instructor (Kevin McCarthy - great guy) told me I could do the manuevures, had seen that I could do it, and basically told me that he knew I could do, and so did I. I went up again, and passed it! Then I just had time to squeeze in my first solo jump (consol #1). The feeling after getting the level7 was indescribably amazing. Was so happy I went up again!

heh No, no cat :) Can jump all year round in spain if you wish. They have a christmas boogie every year...

Just completed Level 7 at Empuria in Spain, looking forward to getting Cat A licence any time soon :) Big hello to all the fiendly folk at Empuria, thanks for a great time. Glad to be part of the family, and want more thrills :)
