  1. There is always the "What line Over?" toggles option... (you might be able to put them on this rig, I'm not sure) Actually, maybe if you put the toggles on the risers you can route the control lines outside the rings, someone ask Loïc! Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  2. The rig can be used for sub terminal and slider off/down jumps. However, the control lines should not be routed outside the rings (at the time I asked he had not tested this and was not confident the brake setting would hold), it is therefor important to use a tailgate for these jumps. Also, you can put the toggles on the risers if you would prefer this. Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  3. Sweet flying: http://search.bbc.co.uk/cgi-bin/search/results.pl?tab=av&q=wingsuit&recipe=all&scope=all&edition=i "Wingsuit flyers hone skills Wingsuit flyers, who compete after jumping out of a plane, have been training for next year's Winter Outdoor Games." or here: http://www.reuters.com/news/video/videoStory?videoId=51533 "May - Wearing futuristic bat-style suits, wingsuit flyers swoop over the glaciers of Chamonix, France in preparation for the 2008 Winter Outdoor Games. It's one of the seldom seen extreme sports but now wingsuit flying will feature for the first time in the 2008 Chamonix Winter Outdoor Games. The wingsuit shapes the body into an airfoil which can create lift. The Winter Outdoor Games takes place from 14-17 February 2008. " So who knows more about this event? 4. NICE, And James, congrats on your first frikandel and raw haring! So many stories we can't possibly post on here without ruining our impeccable reputations Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  5. Yes it was... Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  6. Yea, any competent rigger that's trying to sell you a new rig. Seriously, there is no problem in being a budget skydiver and it doesn't have to affect safety. We used to do the rubber band thing in the old days. To be honest, this slipping of the legstrap scared me and I didn't dare to sell the rig I was having these problems with. I just thought of another solution I once saw. He had put a snap button on the legstrap. The problem here is that you can't adjust the length anymore for thin pants for instance, but it looked like a good solution. Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  7. Hi, If you are on a budget you could do the rubber band trick (see attached), it kinda works. Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  8. I've been looking long and hard for the best skydiving gloves but never found them. My ideal gloves: - No velcro (following the trend of removing all velcro from skydiving and it's also not necessary) Just have about an inch of stretch fabric at the wrist. - Washable. My gloves don't last that long simply because they get dirty and the leather gets hard. Apparently you can't wash leather. - No padding. Most gloves are for bicycling or something and have some padding which reduces the feeling. Keep it simple. - Two versions cold/warm weather Good luck making the best skydiving gloves in the world! 9. No kidding, insurance companies are criminal organizations without a conscience. They scare people with "what if" situations but when shit hits the fan they refer to the smallprint. That's why I don't do insurance if it wasn't mandatory. I'll borrow money from the Maffia or Yakuza if something bad happens, that's much safer. Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  10. these regulation are pretty strict. You can't launch on ski slopes or roads? "Auch müssen die Speedflyer-Fluggeräte den gesetzlichen Vorschriften für Hängegleiter entsprechen, insbesondere muss das Kennzeichen in 40 cm grossen Schriftzeichen angebracht sein" So you can't fly a skydiving canopy? How strict are they? I think I will risk a fine. Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  11. Are you serious? Do I have to do a whole paragliding course with those huge parachutes that won't come down? I would think skydiving experience would be more usefull (smaller faster canopies) Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  12. Apparently the Serie Pro is just a modified version of the Blue Track and is now replaced by the Springo: -skymonkeyone -marcin It's probably not that good for GL so I won't get it. I will try my Sabre 135 first.
  13. Hi, I'm looking at a Serie Pro 120 by Parachute de France with 2? jumps for 150 Euro. http://www.parachutecase.nl/theshop/artikel/mains/mains.html Does anyone know anything about this canopy? Or maybe a more appropriate question; what's wrong with it? I might want to use it for speedflying/groundlaunching. Cya, Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  14. Hi, my name is Tristan and I have an inflation problem. It all started when I got my new V2. I never had any problems before with the other V2's I've flown. I've been hiding this secret for way too long now. Maybe I was just in denial all this time. I've been talking to our brand new master rigger Gunnar about it and he's working on it with me. Now the repairing process has started I hope to get my issues resolved soon! Best regards, Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  15. I would say something like this: "Everyone in their pre-determined slot, with all flyers having the same distances to their neighbours and held for 3.14159265 seconds" This way you can be 10m apart or docked, the shape of the formation would be the same. (Although some formations might be thought of with variable distances between each other.) Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  16. Yea, say hi from me too! I'm glad he finally escaped from that dungeon where they tortured him and performed medical experiments on him! Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?

  18. From the pictures of Costyn I can see that I at least have to push the grippers more than I'm doing, thereby not deforming the wing but pushing it more onto/against the wind. otherwise the tip of the gripper points slightly upwards back which does distort the wing. I saw some pictures of Scaryperry where he really stretches the wing with the grippers which does deform the wing and doesn't seem good (although he does get nice glides with that). Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  19. I also think there is no sweet spot or stall point with the V2 because of the steep angle. Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  20. I think flattening the glide angle can also be done by paying more attention to your arm wings. After seeing some photos of me flying by Costyn, I noticed the armwing shape could use some improvement. You can not just hold the grippers loosely like a S3/S but you have to really push them down and out a bit (for maximum performance not for flocking). This way you should also get a bit more headsup and flatten the glide. and Jarno, you can kiss the PF logo on my color coded butt deflector Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  21. Hi Scott, I own a VISO and have been jumping it a few times now. The logbook holds the following information for every jump: Jump number Exit altitude Deployment altitude Freefall time Max. speed in freefall Max. speed under canopy For the last jump you can playback the altitude versus time or speed versus time. Unfortunately you can not download the data like the protrack and make nice Excell graphs to show off with. what is potentially very interesting for wingsuiters is the possibility to display your freefall speed instead of your altitude. This should make it possible to see in real time the effects of adjusting your body shape to you freefall rate. Just make sure you won't start thinking you are steadily hovering at 50.00ft I mounted mine on a chest mount for this purpose but haven't been able to try it yet. I am wondering about one thing though. I understand that a different altitudes can be detected between a chest mount and wrist mount because of the different air pressure, but wouldn't the change in pressure (and thereby the speed) be the same? 22. They're not just cookies, they're STROOPWAFELS!!! Clearly you have never been to Holland and sank your teeth into the tender yet firm crust and pressed your tongue against the golden syrup. For once you have tasted stroopwafels you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards Holland, for there you have been and there you will long to return. So how dare you diminish this gift from God as mere cookies! Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  23. No thanks, I'm not really interested in seeing you sucking anything hard, not even if you are wearing a wingsuit. Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  24. If non of us is coming, I know this alternative medicine shop in Italy that used to import them for me and my roommates
  25. Yet another amazing wingsuit event. I truly think we are doing some revolutionary stuff here and I'm proud to be part of it! A big thank you to everyone involved!!! JA, FOOK JA!!! Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
