OK.... Cross Port- A whole in the rib of the parachute. Ensures (or tries to) that all cells are evenly pressurized during canopy flight. Rib- Verticle (when inflated of course) portion of fabric that seperates each cell. Has holes in it!!!!!!! LOL Top Skin/Bottom Skin- Hopefully self explanatory....No holes...I hope

Sounds like a plan! What are the dates? I just checked their site and all they had was some crap about a Caravan boogie. What's next? A Piper Supercub boogie? LMAO

Not that I have ever done anything so stupid......but now that I am a bit wiser, Take Aviatrr's post to heart. Free Flying is a lot of fun but it's also a whole new world of hazards. Talk with some more experienced folks around your DZ. It can save you a lot of pain and maybe even your life down the road. As always....welcome to the Freak Clan! Happy Head Downs!!!!! BTW...I have executed the exact same jump!!! LOL It was fun.

and then admitted it to the entire world on DZ.com. That may count for two!.....LOL

Not that anyone needed defending....but I just wanted to relate a little story. Dont have my log book in front of me but I believe it was either one of my 30 or 45 sec drills that Chuck was JMing me on. I was supposed to do a left 360 Right 360 and track. On Chuck's direction I executed the Right and then the left 360. He then gave me the signal to track and since we hadnt really discussed this portion other than that I needed to do it, I was going to make it easy on him I thought. I turned and tracked away for about 2 seconds. I brought my arms up and was turning around to track back when....I was a little startled that Chuck's smiling face was right in mine! He was close enough to touch me, as he should be. He then started turning points. Which I thought (because I hadnt done this yet) meant more beer for each point. Chuck...I dont think I ever told you but thats why I shook my head "no" after the first couple points...LOL. Thanks for the jump and introducing me to the sport. It has made me a better person. Granted dont take any of this "out of context" as fucking around with a student. All the JM's there knew I was confident from the get go an "easy student" I was just impressed that he stuck that close to me as all the other JM's didnt.

OK..OK........Let's get back to the original situation. Why does this guy have to prove to his wife it's safe? Who's wearin the damn pants??????????

Who's having the CASA? Monroe?

Clay's Collegiate edition Dictionary 1. Minor Malfunction(N)- A malfunction which allows the occupant/s of a parachute to walk away from the landing. 2. Major Malfunction(N)- A malfunction that results in a canopy which will kill, maim, or damage the right wrist (for single males) as to render it unusable if a landing is attempted. I like to keep things simple......

re: Chuck???? WEAR A HELMET?????? I must be going blind!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO This from a guy who's favorite saying is "Go Fast, Take chances, and for God's sake dont wear a helmet!" That place must be danegerous!!!!! I'd probably wear mine while RV hopping....especially if it's camera equipped. Might need a time out too in case of a too many beer induced nose over!

I should have known any chic this cool would be from Texas.

Well you'll have to take that up with Remi of RemiandKaren. They looked good on TV...............

RE: Freak Sis I love that in a woman. If your significant other leaves you unattended for 3 or more minutes let me know...LOL

I'm getting pretty set on hanging out in Spain for a week in October. I keep hearing good things about Empuriabrava. Both the jumping and partying sound excellent and the DZ is only about 3K from the beach. I had a favorable report on Spanish women as well!!! I'm also meeting a good friend and his wife that I havent seen in a couple years from Germany. The rooms are cheap and the jumps are a couple dollars cheaper than the States($16). (Ruled out Brazil cause the jumps are like $25) If ya wanna go I'll be nailing down the exact dates around the 10th of August.

Sounds good.....OK who out there flies these canopies and what are they like? Really...and no chiming in from the jerkies that get paid to fly them....LOL. I saw a pretty violent spinning cutaway on one 2 weeks ago?

Re: Freak Sis Two words for you..."Good Girl!"
-
I havent been but Condoms, aspirin, and Gatorade would be high on the list of tier two support items.
-
Weid14....Exactly, seperation is the key. Also God gave you two...not one but two eyes to scan below and above you. I dont know if it's just bad luck but lately I have had to avoid jumpers while in free fall. One jump I had one below me. I had given a nice 7 sec seperation but he still ended up below me (sitflyer). I tracked and dumped avoiding him by about 100-200 ft lateral. The other was a flat flyer above me Sunday. Luckily I FF most of the time and have ample opportunity to clear airspace both above and below about 1,000 ft prior to pulling. Something I hope everyone is doing.

Yeah those ratings requirements can be a little tuff sometimes. With some computer experience I'm sure Bellsouth will give you something to do. Not that you'll need a wheelbarrow to carry your paycheck home but it's work and the benefits are good. Let me know....there's a program here where I can put your name in with HR and if they hire you I get $1,000. I'll split it with ya?????? Hell....it's not like I work too hard...I post on here all day.

Just think....When anyone needs advice about flying or their choice of a reserve you'll be the SME! All the chicks will dig you....pretty much a local celebrity. Maybe you'll even get a sponsor from a manufacturer. You have to look at the bright side!
-
Dude! Go to Headdown.net and look for the 6 way off the cliff....wanna talk about crazy. My favorite is the wing suit off the same cliff. The guy goes out of view of the camera man. They have great video there but beware....you need massive bandwidth or a good hobby when downloading these flicks.

I cant admit to anything publicly yet cause the court case is still going on but.....If I were in your shoes I'd have no moral dilemma. Especially if you have some "artistic photography" to post. Just make sure you put the URL up here....MMMMMUUUUUHHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH

PD 190 F-111....full story is under "Brake Adjustment 2" on the talk back page. Added about 2 and half inches to the brakes and it was a whole new canopy.
-
OK....OK.....dont bash the Cherry too hard for not knowing where the brakes are. Sounds like a step through to me. I have seen people land....pretty confused and a little scared after them but the canopy flew fine so...... I always pack my own main..always. If it has been in a bag for a week or two, I repack it, always. In the military I had to jump chutes packed by someone else almost every time. Probably some 18 yr old punk private that was thinking about how to get in that girl at the mall's pants. I didnt like it much and I now enjoy knowing whats in the bag. Just Clay's philosophy. BTW....68 jumps and no mals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yet............................
-
Speaking of night jumps......Does anyone know where I can get a lighted altimeter? The only ones I have ever seen were made by an obscure military contractor in Canada and good luck finding a battery for it!
-
Damn...I'm a smoker, Skydiver, and I have no Cypress!....I'm screwed........
