  1. under canopy http://skydivecamera.com/?p=168 https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
  2. I am looking for PPT presentation re First Jump Course, Canopy Piloting, Free fall Body Position etc. for AFF students. Can someone point me to a resource I can download such PPT from or share your own via email, please? I have found something interesting but the site does not allow downloads: http://www.authorstream.com/User-Presentations/meeker46/ but you can see what I am looking for... I would really appreciate your help, Kamil https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
  3. 109 is a good choice this has in/out fire-wire ports (on the dock) so you can copy from/to other camera you will need wide angle converter, in my opinion 0.3 will do for coaching https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
  4. packer (my ex) was not very experienced actually it was like her 20-th pack job never mind https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
  5. too popular ;) already works fine https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
  6. both jumpers are expirienced and prospective instructors the IAD method was used in the training because we do not have a plane for static line anymore all students on our dropzone are trained in AFF only this whole IAD method might look strange, but afaik everything was safe, tail was high and the "instructor" was aware of impossible to predict "student's" actions we haven't decided yet if IAD will be used on our dropzone as an alternate to AFF I think I can handle a student at the door so we are all safe if one sees any errors on the vid comments are more than wellcomed https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
  7. imho 40d is the same and much cheaper 50d is 15Mpix and 40d is 10Mpix which is more or less the same with picture quality also - you do not want larger file size when working I use medium quality jpg with tandems - downloads are faster https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
  8. maybe a better body position on opening will help? what I do after jump is slowing down before pull then proper, symmetrical position when it starts opening I keep legs together and balance in harness to have both risers on the same level or something like that... https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
  9. any EOS will do, they are all (almost) the same regarding picture quality. if you can afford it invest in a lens like canon 10-22. camera body does not matter. btw canon seems to be the camera of choice for most https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
  10. .3 buy .5 and u will discard it later when u start using .3 https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
  11. depends on lens (usually price) canon kit lens 18-55 I taped and set to manual using hyperfocal distance settings 10-22 I do not tape, it works with autofocus and after deployment I set zoom from 10 to 22 to take pictures under canopy https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
  12. landscape is the way to go. blue is more blue, colors are more vivid, it simply looks great. I mostly shot with saturation +2 and sharpness +? no editing necessary http://skydivecamera.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2008081113.jpg http://skydivecamera.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2008081115.jpg http://skydivecamera.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2008090612.jpg https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/

  14. spectacular views, great to have a dropzone by the sea! some pics here, enjoy: http://skydivecamera.com/?cat=5 https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
  15. canon 10-22 sometimes I zoom out after opening for under canopy pictures https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
  16. I have experimented with differents settings and here are the results (350D with 18-55 kit lens and tounge switch): 1. I do not use sports mode AF was no good, backfocusing on exits etc. due to the AF/AE lock overexposure on exit was tipical ISO 400 not the best quality 2. I use shutter priority (T at 500) with CF4 set to 3 on the ground or in the plane I point at something located at the distance of 5-6 ft and set the focus there once the focus is set it remains set for the whole session CF4 set to 3 means that the shutter release does not activate focus and it does not lock exposure every shot has it's own metering I use ISO 200 (400 when it's realy cloudy) wb set to sun/clouds metering mode set to center weighter avg AF mode one shot (efectively I use manual-locked focus at 5-6 ft) drive mode - continous image quality L (jpg) this is the best one can get from kit lens IMHO https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/

    Backflying

is your rig tight on you? close the cheststrap first, tight then the legstraps make sure it is not moving to much on your back this sometimes helps with backfly spin https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
