last weekend my bonehead was poped out during deployment. Propably a riser opend the chinstrap. I bought bonehead chinstrap to prepare the stuff for camera. Needless to say, I have removed the chinstrap and am angry at bonehead. The chinstrap closure sucks. BTW. My helmet is just a little broken, still useble. The protrack has broken display, but bips and transfers data as usual. Going to order rawa... PS. the jump was actually recorded, took 90s and the opening altitude was 150ft (why not 3000ft?) https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/

I made 70+ jumps in 10 days and had the fun of my life Next year summerfest+WFFC https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/

Right, on my first flight I tried to max it out. Ended up flying on my back and this kind of stuff Scott -> the firebird I flew at the summerfest was too tall for me and I was maxed out but the suit wasn't. My, custom made fits me realy well, so I maxed it out on my first flight. Next tries were more relaxed and it was fun. Today my avg was 54mil/h. Not bad for a rookie I think... For pictures in the flight I will have to wait - there are only 2 other suits I know of (no camera). One of my friends recently ordered firebird, so the wingsuit era has just begun Zach-> next summerfest for sure, next weekend probably not. I live in Poland. https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/

First flight today with my new firebird. Way to learn https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/

Everybody knows Javelin makes great containers. Of course I have asked Javelin first (no reply since). BTW - isn't it, that different canopy models pack different? Just by looking at some general charts this is difficult to figure out what fits what. Thanks for the chat

Do you use this mod? Why? Why not? Is it worth anything? How about freeflying a container with wingsuit mod? https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
-
Why? Well, to get another order? Anyway. Users experience counts. https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
-
I did. But experience of users is also interesting. Manufacturers are biased... https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/

I have an Odyssey J3K with Spectre 170 main. Want to change to Spectre 150 or Sabre2 150. Will the container be OK with smaller main? Any experience on that subject here? https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/

Scott, I misspelled the address, now it should be ok https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/

Scott, nice to hear from you

that email contains info that is out of synch with reality...anyway, I'm still waiting Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining here, just wanted to ask the lucky one how long it took for him https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/

When did you placed you order? My order was placed on Aug-5 and since then no info, no suit https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/

Thank you for great replays. Just to clear my intentions: I want to make an informed decision. I asked a lot of questions to my instructors and experienced jumpers on my DZ to go for Spectre 170. The decision was right. I made almost 200 jumps with no real problems (got scared or made my pants green from the grass sometimes). Now I want more fun. But do not want to put myself in trouble. If I go for a canopy that is way above my skill level I will have to make hundreds of straight in approaches which is dangerous and definitely no fun at all. From what Andrew and Thomas say I understand, Spectre is not intended to be pushed to the limits of horizontal speed on landings. I will consider Sabre or Stiletto than. Interesting opinion by Bonnie. If a swooper suggests few more hundred jumps on my Spectre, maybe I should forget about more speed and stay on what I have (a school bus:) I would appreciate any opinions or comments on that. Thank you Lisa, you are right, one can learn a lot on 170. On the other hand there would be more fun with more speed. I was very careful for some 100 jumps on my Spectre, then gradually started hook turns (90, 180, 270) now I am trying 360 but there is no real difference from 180. Poor piloting or the canopy is like a bus, not a car (?). I still remember my first jump (I downsized from 330 student canopy). I was cruising around DZ with speed, not just slowly loosing altitude. Now I have to use force to feel the speed :) https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/

Downsizing from Spectre 170 to 150

I am planning to do so. With some 200 jumps on 170 I feel I might be ready. 170 starts to be boring. Is Spectre 150 any different in handling or openings? What if I got linetwist? Does it spin like hell to the ground or is still controllable like 170 was? Would it be safe if I go for something else than Spectre 150 (some eliptical or semieliptical)? Regards, Kamil PS. My exit weight is 200. https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/

What age did you start skydiving?
snafuhere replied to GoRdOn8619's topic in General Skydiving Discussions

after (1) control is already done. should one toggle go off I will probably cut the other one and use rear risers instead https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/ -
Canopy Piloting School reflections
snafuhere replied to HydroGuy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Observing more experienced skydivers and reading the forum I have learn to practice this sequence after deployment: 1. look around for clear, safe direction and use rear risers to steer towards landing area 2. collapse the slider and move it down the risers behind my head 3. loosen chest strap 4. after 1,2,3 are done, unstow the brakes Kamil https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/ -
should I be afraid of psycho packing Spectre 170?
snafuhere replied to snafuhere's topic in Gear and Rigging
Hi, I propack and the openings are OK and loooong. I've heard that psycho packed canopy opens even longer. Is that true? Does anybody here psycho pack Spectre? https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/ -
Skydive Chicago, Ottawa - where to stay
snafuhere replied to snafuhere's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I'm planning to be there for some 2 weeks July/August. Has anybody a good advice where to stay? Unexpensive B&B? Room to rent? Any advice will be appreciated https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/ -
That's right, I'm looking for a safe kind of fun. On the other hand, until end of July I'm planning to have some 100 jumps total, so gain more experience before. Anyway - great replys and Chickago seems right for me. Will take FL in the winter then. https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/

Hi there, I am going to spend my vacation on dropzone - end of July - beginning of August. Hope for some 2 weeks of all-day skydiving. What would be the best dropzone in USA? I've been thinking about Deland FL, but am afraid of temperatures. I live in north part of Europe and temperatures above 85 F scare me. Should I care? What dropzone would you suggest from your experience? Once I got there I want to be able to jump the whole week (weather, plane availability, accomodation are the main factors). https://www.facebook.com/1skydive/
