Woman does this, she's a slut or desperate. Guy does this, he's just doing what guys do. No harm, no foul, unless he pushes too hard when the girl signals no. That's creep zone and actually pretty hard to get into. Society just doesn't treat women the same as men when it comes to this. That's why you really can't call a guy a whore and there's no label like "cougar" that'd ever apply to a man.

Tell that to the girls who never seem to have guys make first moves on them. At least if you're a guy you have control over that shit.
  3. The Super Size Me movie really wasn't scientific at all. The dude was consuming massive amounts of calories. For a counter to that movie: http://www.fathead-movie.com/index.php/about/ There's a dude that ate fast food all month and lost weight. Not saying that movie isn't biased as well, but it makes some interesting points. But I generally avoid it or if I eat it I stick to the burgers and avoid the fries and cola. Actually, I don't drink cola or sports drinks at all anymore. I eat Subway and Publix subs all the time though. Subway rocks. Low calorie, available everywhere, quick to get, meat and veggies.

50% of the population is female, the other half is guys. I don't see how single chicks have it easier than single guys or how women can "magically" find a guy any more than a man can't just run out and find a girl if he really just puts effort into it. As for being single... I miss having a kayaking, couch, movie, and snuggle buddy. Don't miss the drama that pops up when my shit is incompatible with their shit.
  5. Nice, you guys need to come down to Sebastian one of these weekends and join the flocking going on there. Here's a compilation of jumps from my first 3 weekends with the GoPro: http://sebflock.com/?page_id=29 The embed is 720p, but you can download the full 1080 version at the bottom of the page. I put the above together with Super LoiloScope, which I'm sure no one here has heard of before. http://loilo.tv/product/1/desc It's really easy to work with and uses CUDA for the encoding, which is nice if you run a NVidia card. A 5 min 1080p vid takes about 7 mins to encode on my laptop.
  6. I think this is the card I'm using http://www.bestbuy.com/site/SanDisk+-+Ultra+II+16GB+Secure+Digital+Memory+Card/9142171.p?id=1218033631187&skuId=9142171 Been recording at 1080p just fine. I've only had 1 issue with my camera and that's if I don't charge it the night before a weekend of jumping it'll run out of juice and not record on one of the jumps. It'll go from displaying a full charge to no charge. I've just been charging it each night when I'm jumping. Also the mounting is loose from where the camera snaps in. Hasn't been an issue on wingsuit jumps because the air pressure is 1 directional on the camera, but another guy at the DZ has had issues with the camera shaking on FF jumps. Wedging something in where the camera housing snaps into the mount fixed that though.
  7. This. At some point you realize winter is optional.
  8. They do it as a return courtesy. So you don't have to wait long. My favorite is when you're walking down a street and smile at a pretty girl walking the other way. She'll usually smile and look down. Too cute.
  9. Good list, though you forgot Sean Young as Chani in Dune.
  10. It's not the same. FB is sort of like a wall of "this is what I'm doing, here's the photos of me and my girl doing x, y, z, etc etc" and your friends comment and chat on those items. It's a very casual and easy way of keeping in touch with people. I have a nephew on facebook that I never get to see and it definitely keeps us connected.
  11. It comes with mounting points that use a 3M adhesive that will stick to your helmet. It won't fall off. One of the guys at ZHills had to put in an insane amount of work with tools to remove one. The plastic that attaches to the camera case will probably fail first. @DSE: Got a guy at my DZ that jumps a CX7 and I've noticed the colors on that look much "richer". Just deeper, more vivid. Colors pop more which makes my gopro look a little washed out in comparison. No complaints though, the gopro is like a third the cost.
  12. I was talking about 3-4 ways at the DZ on days when only 3-4 wingsuiters show up. It's not just skill. In my old Mach 1 I can average 2 mins FF time. Got to play with a s-bird demo over the weekend that doesn't fit right and a few jumps into it I'm pulling 3 mins easy. And the s-bird has more drive to boot. We got a guy at the DZ with a S6, has hundred of wingsuits jumps and there's no way he could keep up with me in the s-bird unless I flew it "sloppy". Nothing at all wrong with putting together ways for maxed out glides, but for the OP to criticize guys flying legs bent when they're probably do that for the flock is bullshit. It's absolutely frustrating being that guy, maxed out and not being able to catch the guy 6 inches taller, 20 pounds lighter and who owns a suit 2 generations newer than yours. Personally I think those people being able to shut it down and fly in next to the fatties is the real show of skill.
  13. The HD Hero? Definitely. Though you should make sure the DZ you're going to shoot for doesn't require a specific model camera for compatibility reasons.
  14. Sweet. Congrats Rosa, welcome to the flock.
  15. Sounds like he doesn't want you to information overload. That said, you might be the type of personality that likes to know every small facet of everything before going ahead. A details person. What I'd do is next time you go ask manifest if you could have one of the other instructors you vibed with better. I don't think there's anything rude in that. Do make it an issue where the other instructor isn't "bad", so much as you just like the pace of your preferred instructor. Manifest shouldn't give you any grief over it if it's a decent DZ.
  16. That's total BS. You can be a guy, have a spine, and still be nice.
  17. Sure, be okay with the idea you want animal fuck-me-now passion and you just don't see this guy throwing you up against the wall for a pull your hair make-out session. Next, don't lead the dude on at any level. If he's puppy dogging you around you have to shut that shit down no matter how uncomfortable or "mean" that makes you feel. Worst thing for this dude right now would be to waste his time on you when he could be putting his attention on other girl he might up vibing with.
  18. It's your life, so ultimately it's your call. But I wouldn't do it.
  19. I don't agree with this. When you have 50 FF jumps and the guys today have 1000+ you just can't play with them unless they come down to your "level", which when they're spending $25 a jump they usually don't. I can see the same thing happening in wingsuiting. When you have 50 WS jumps it's hard enough to just fly a slot at a mid 60's fall rate. We have wingsuit RW, the new suits can do 40mph easy, the flocking is getting much more precise, 5+ mile flights, 4 way docks while back flying, etc. It's very non-exciting to just fly a base with a 70mph fallrate, but that's what Purple Mike, Scott Bland, Steve-o, Cancer Chris and a bunch of others did back in the day for the guys just getting into the sport. How does the newbie increase his skills if the skilled guys don't decrease their performance so he can play with them?
  20. can you really be that bored? You laugh, but I see this happening with freeflying: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3216082;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread Used to be most everyone went to FF shortly after AFF. Get a couple friends, go out and maybe in a couple hundred jumps you'd be able to pull off a Spock, get it on video and have everyone going gaga over it. Now people are doing VRW, don't bother trying to join until you have 600+ jumps, and in the meantime those old RW dudes over there are inviting you in on a 4 way the day you get your A. I see more RW today on the Florida DZs than I did 4 years ago. With wingsuiting... we have a real small window for getting people hooked. You gotta have 200 jumps and by that time a lot of people are already forming a clique with whatever discipline they're doing. If you don't bring them in and hook them, they'll get bored and just go back to whatever they were doing before.
  21. They prefer to be called wiccas. The main thing is to make sure you have good fire insurance. They're really into candles, incense and fire poi.
  22. This. Tomorrow's leet flyers are today's 70+ fall rate rocks that can barely hold a slot. Leave them behind to fly on their own and we can watch our discipline wither and die since they'll just get bored and go back to RW.
  23. Played with it more this weekend. Last weekend it was reporting a full charge when I was done so I didn't charge it or anything over the week and it died on the 1st jump Saturday. After about 1 hour of charging on a laptop it was reporting a full charge again and worked fine for the rest of the day(maybe 45-60 mins of video). So, it might be like a neptune in that the battery is either full or dead. But it charges quickly and you can charge it off of any USB which is pretty universal.
  24. Please look into the light. There is no conspiracy. There was no 71 way world record last year. But really, man, I'd hate to organize something like this. Work your ass off trying to get 100 wingsuiters in one place, raise money for charity, build a really sweet looking big ass diamond, get some great press on our little discipline of skydiving and... get nothing but shit over it from some of your peers.
  25. Well, it's only Monday. Odds are most peeps are still flying/recovering from the event.
