  1. Just a reminder, although the days have been hot lately, it's been pretty cold at night so don't forget sweats and blankets and whatnot.
  2. There will be only 2 half hour closures(noonish and 3ish I was told), it really shouldn't effect us and personally I wouldn't mind watching a stunt show anyways.
  3. I like to think of sex as a race....whoever finishes first wins. I am a sexual champion in my own mind.
  4. Latest News: September 16th is "Airport Day" here in Paso. There's going to be lots of old planes and RC planes there and they are going to do 2 stunt shows during the day as well. I talked to the Airport Manager and this won't effect us except during the stunt show but that only lasts a half hour.
  5. Here's Skydive Santa Barbara. It's been a while since I jumped there but this is how I remember it.
  6. This is really cool. Can someone from every DZ in Cali make one, I'd love to have them all. Here's where I jump. It may be small, but I call it home.
  7. That's good to hear. Let me know how it goes, I may have to give them another chance. It'd be much nicer to jump by the ocean rather than the desert with 115 degrees+.
  8. 2 things: #1: Last I heard, up-jumpers are only allowed to jump on the weekends. You may want to call and find out. #2: Based on the daily weather around here lately it will probably be socked in with fog/rain/thunderstorms by about 3ish till dark. Try to get there earlier. Not trying to rain on your parade (no pun intended), these are just my observations.
  9. We'll have room to haul some camping stuff down from NorCal. If anyone wants to ship theirs out, let me know and I'll get you the address. On that note, if anyone wants to ship their stuff to my house send me a PM.
  10. I've been poking and prodding around with interests in starting a DZ here. Roger Oxborow (PR Airport Manager) can't legally force skydivers to not land there but he has made it very difficult, expensive, not worth the hassle to have a DZ there. Skybytch and I are throwing a boogie here but we are landing at Star Farms which is about 2 miles from the airport. How much land would be required for a DZ? ...and yes you are right, I feel a DZ here could grow to be one of the busiest in the country. Anyone that is interested in starting a DZ here please feel free to email me, I have a lot of contacts here and would love to only have to drive 2 miles to the DZ instead of 100+.
  11. Don't kid yourself; many Californians are paying "Interest Only" for a shot at the good life and blue skies. Still better than living in the valley.

I agree, if they can pass AFF and then all the requirements for the 'A' license they should be more than competent on their bellies to start doing some FF'ing.
  13. You get what you pay for. Hey Aubrey, I think I met you at Elsinore. Were you there during the FF skills thing with guano when it was cloudy and crappy on saturday, we played kickball? We did end up jumping on sunday though.
  14. I jump at Taft. I don't know anyone that is from the north, most are locals, bakersfield, northernish LA, and a few of us from the central coast. Your better off just going once or twice and asking around, most of them aren't on DZ.com. I'm going on Sunday, I'll ask around for you. You are coming to the Star Farms Boogie aren't you? It's only a 2 hour drive from Visalia.
  15. [reply I find it more social to share a bottle or two of vino than a 12 pack of 3.2 beer. Well that's your problem right there....you're supposed to drink 24 beers, trust me you'll be very sociable afterwards.
  16. "Why would you jump out of a perfectly good airplane?" My response: "You haven't seen our airplane!!"
  17. I just sold my rig out of country and was very happy with how it went down. I contacted the local rigger and had them hold the money (cashiers check not a personal check), I then sent my rig to the rigger (not the buyer), after he inspected it and okayed it he sent me the money and gave the buyer the rig. Seemed to work fine for both of us.
  18. I have only reserved the Saturday and Sunday but can and will reserve Friday if there is enough people that go. Whether the plane is out there is up to Skybytch, she's taking care of that portion of it. So how many of you would like to come out Friday?
  19. Good to see the list growing I wanted to let you all know that you all are more than welcome to bring your RV's but there are no hookups. There is a professional crouquet(sp?) course out there so I'm thinking we make up some sort of drunken crouquet tournament where we each have to pound a beer after every hoop and the last man(woman) standing wins. There is also the log roll but that can get painful during fierce competition P.S. There is also a newish Airport in Fresno-FAT- that has many larger planes landing there. It is about 2 hours from here.
  20. I've been in the motorcycle business a long time and have been racing dirtbikes and streetbikes as long as I can remember. It still surprises me everytime that motorcycle people think I'm 'suicidal' for jumping out of an airplane but are 'impressed' that I go 150mph with my knee touching the ground or jump 60+ feet through the air at 60mph. It's funny, my desktop picture on my computer at work is of me and 2 friends FF'ing, customers look at it and go "Is that you? That's fucking craaaaazy, I'd never jump out of an airplane!" Then they buy a brand new GSXR1000 with no motorcycle experience whatsoever
  21. It's a private, man-made beach with a dock, palm trees, etc... Look at the pics I posted.
  22. I'm the local guy that helped make this happen, if anyone needs pick ups from the airport let me know (I have Friday off but not Thursday till 6:00) The weather is usually 80's to 90's that time of year but may be a bit foggy in the morning, it won't be too bad Spence. I live 2 minutes for Star Farms but I'll definitely be camping still. If anyone wants recommendations for hotels/restaurants/wineries or whatnot hit me up, I'll point you in the right direction. I am also working on getting a Hot Air Balloon for this. The guy that does it locally used to do drop jumpers back east and doesn't have a problem with it but I'm not sure what kind of NOTAM we need or if we do need one. Anyone have any experience with this? P.S. My GF and all her friends or going to be playing on the beach the whole time as well so there'll be plenty of eye candy for you guys(or gals) that aren't jumping
  23. Only 21 posts and well on your way to being a safety unnecessary label removed by slotperfect. Nothing is black and white dude.
