    Yes they will argue the Democrats did this all along anyways, so it is just payback.... Edited to add, if we have seen anything since the first Trump presidency is that the rule of law simply doesn't exist in the US. If you are rich and/or powerful enough you can do whatever you want without any consequences. Trump will feel he can act, and SCOTUS has backed him up on this, without any fear of liability. He can act without impunity and he is vindictive. Many people will cheer it on, until it lands on their doorstep. At which point they will blame the democrats for allowing it to happen. I predict that in 2 to 4 years many Republicans will be blaming Biden for not dealing with Trump.

    first declare a state of emergency. Call it all emergency actions after that. court challenges will be settled by SCOTUS. Even if you believe SCOTUS will rule against Trump, much of the damage will already be done.

    the accuracy of what Trump did claim – that there were "very fine people on both sides" of the 2017 Unite the Right debacle – is in question. So your preferred narratives is that when he said both sides, one of the sides wasn't white supremacists or nazis. Considering the incident was about white supremacists and Nazis, that is a pretty bizarre side to be on. Takes a lot of mental gymnastics to get to that point. But I am sure it helps you sleep at night, and that is really all that matters, how it affects you. Fuck the rest.

    When you make money more expensive, risks have to come down, or rewards will have to go up. In all likelihood VC's will stop investing in most start-ups, which will decrease the innovation taking place.
