It will only help Tesla,” he posted in July, before Trump tapped him to lead his new advisory committee. “Also, remove subsidies from all industries!” So no, he didn't say "I want to eliminate tax breaks for EV buyers". He qualified his statement by saying he wants to remove all subsidies. He knows that doesn't have a snowball's change in hell of happening. Which in the future will allow him to explain why EV tax breaks or equivalent subsidies are still a thing.
