Yes. It is a trend. I work at a major upscale "lifestyle" type shopping center. Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle, ect.... This low-rider, no-butt style, especially in the jean department, allows for a girl to feel "comfortable and accepted" with a huge gut and "love handles". No "IMHO" about it. It just is. 15-17 years of age with shitting eating habits and not enought exercise, that "comfortable and accepted" feeling won't be so comfortable as a morbidly obese adult. But then again, I didn't feel so "comfortable", either, now looking back at photos of myself in Guess jeans, that had been cropped so tight around the calves by my mom's sewing machine that I couldn't feel my feet. Trend. Funny thing, that. To each, their own.
