  1. 1.hmmmmm.....first goal is to actually have some money with which to go to russia in june with. 2.avoid working weekends as much as posible. 3.fine tune and hone the skills taught to me by Louis from Avalore Freefly in spain recently whilst on aforementioned weekends off work. . 4.definitely do that canopy control course at my DZ. last but not least....this is perennial..be safe...dont go on jumps above my experience level and dont attempt any landings above my experience level. ---------------------------------------- I AM THE ATMOSPHERE HOOLIGAN
  2. i rented for a little while......230's and 210's then got given a 190 and at about the 100 jump mark i went out and bought a brand new rig with a 168 in it. i talked to riggers and experienced people, most of them said leave it til about 100 jumps and get summat u can progress SAFELY on without getting bored. my dz was happy with the way i had progressed under different canopies, and were happy to let me jump my new rig (its small enuff there for people to know what you are up to) i didnt listen to people who kept saying 'get a 150...get a 150' what i have now is more than enough for me to learn on for a good couple a hundred jumps AT LEAST!.(and i can put another sized canopy into it if required after time)..i'm in no rush.i spent that money on a new rig cos i knew i was gonna be keeping it for a long time. one thing i will always remember being said to me is from a good mate who isnt hugely experienced...he said-"all my mates who have downsized from a 190 to a 150 have ended up doing themselves an injury....dont bother mate..take your time" wise words. dont forget all these sizes i have mentioned are only relative to my own exit weight, yours will be different.
  3. quite simply a great place to jump. with not a hint of attitude or ego from any of the workers/regulars....in fact, everyone seemed to be genuinely happy to help, chat or have a laugh. this kinda stuff is important to me.....i cant stand stuffy 'holier than thou' skygods..... a lovely huge big landing area....nice porter....i just dont have anything negative to say about the place. as for coaching, i got my AFF thru the FFU who are based there (just over a year ago....a great school to learn with) and have just got back from a freefly coaching bonanza there with Louis Harwood's school 'Avalore Freefly'. This trip resulted in me getting my FF1, all thanks to a top coach who was prepared to get stuck in with a totally novice freeflyer like myself.By the end of the course his coaching style ensured i was up to the standard required for the BPA FF1. I was so happy with the way the coaching was going that i carried on coaching with him working on tracking dives, varying freefly exits and extra skill refinements. Check this place out....for fun, training or learning....its sweet. :0)
  4. when your momma gets annoyed cos she aint seen you all summer! when you start working 3 day weeks in the summer. when your whuffo mates aint seen you for a while. when a holiday is actually an extended jumpfest. when u spend £1000 on going away and only doing 9jumps (ooops). when i work out how much i have spent in the last 14 months.... when the company you sub-contract to say 'u gotta give us some more days of work in the week' when u haven't holiday'ed for 7 yrs....then within 12 months of skydiving u have been on 4 holidays. shall i continue? ---------------------------------------- I AM THE ATMOSPHERE HOOLIGAN

  8. its a brand new canopy....45 jumps on canopy and lines all done by me...i PRO pack,i never roll the nose (like my old coe-d!!) and only put a couple of rolls in the tail..opening sequence is fine, slider all the way down ,most of the time!....but the end cells shut usually giving me spins, i usually grab the rear risers and apply gentle pressure before releasing toggles as i just wanna get straight asap in case anyone else is close by. i had twists (only a couple) induced by the turn from ECC in spain 2 weeks ago...the 1st time thats happened..my mate has one too....at same wing loading....he's quite used to the ECC now
  9. hey ho.....anyone got any tips on how to sort out end cell closure upon opening on my pilot 168?its got 45 jumps on it..at 1.2 wing loading....is there anything i can do or is it a case of 'ride 'em out cowboy?'. ---------------------------------------- I AM THE ATMOSPHERE HOOLIGAN
