A bit nervous about first 10 second delay
SkyTango replied to pontiacgtp00's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Remember that this advice does not start in the plane but way before the jump. Hurrying out to the plane is a sure way of over-amping / tensing-up. Be there early, get your briefing done, do ground practice, walk out to the boarding area as soon as you are allowed, re-think the plan, relax and then just enjoy the drive & dive. I agree. I only have a 100 jumps on the Sabre 170 (with a bigger/pocketed slider) but that trick slowed down the openings dramatically. JC If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You get another chance.

Eric (Tonto) Stephenson - Goodbye my friend
SkyTango replied to sangiro's topic in Blue Skies - In Memory Of
Tonto was a good friend and teacher. I’ve knew him since I started jumping in February 2005, switching to AFF after 6 SL jumps. His enthusiasm for the sport was apparent and contagious. I remember the 2nd week I was out at the DZ. We were having a beer in the bush pub. I wasn’t one of his students yet. (He had no issues coming to share some thoughts with a student). We discussed EP’s and his words to me was ‘…you’ve got an advantage you did your FJC last week. You still remember the stuff' Later he taught me some other stuff like: “..The ground will not ask you how many jumps you have before it’s comes out to kill you.” “...Maintain you equipment. We die easy” “…all mushrooms are edible …. At least once” Too many to recite. Still later when I broke my ankle in an out landing, jumping from a balloon, he was there first waiting with me for my ride (photo attached) sharing stories of his own accidents. Tonto taught, learned and lived skydiving. He will be missed. JSC will not be the same. JC -

0:3:0 • A 3-way, • Tracking dive and • A 11000ft h&p (took 2000ft to get rid of those line twists while hanging horizontal with the canopy...) Had 2 brothers doing 7 levels on the SL progression on Saturday (8 Jumps each). Spend most the day giving briefings but it was great seeing their enthusiasm after each jump. They just never got tired. JC If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You get another chance.

What can we do about Skyride?
SkyTango replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Now let’s see if you set your preferences to display more than 25 replies to a page you should have fewer pages to read. Then their is also the fact that if you didn’t post to the thread it wouldn’t have bumped to the top again but at least now we'll be able to see if dz.com will explode with a thread gets viewed 100000 times.... JC If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You get another chance.
