  1. Hey Tony, if it's any consolation I'm BRETON. Same sort of celtic stubborn cunt but with a taste for cider and crepes. oh, and... GAME ON Take it easy, P.
  2. As far as i know, he was heding to switzerland, france and italy. Didn't mention the UK... take it easy, P. "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
  3. Damn the weather. I wish I'd flown one of tony's suits. They're Huge. I supposed I should just be happy I kicked his ass Thanks to Tony and Liz for coming to leprechaun land. Take it easy, Paddy. "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
  4. Hery MC, I Hope you're not including me and luke in the UK/NL wingsuiter group. I'd be offended and luke would probably find a bunch a leprechauns to curse your familly until the end of days... don't mess with the irish :) Just landed in singapore where i have a couple of hours to kill until my connection to melbourne... Life is tough :) Anyway, thanks a lot for the jumps I'm glad you liked the pictures... Also thanks for showing me one of the most twisted video i have ever seen :) See you and costyn in NL this summer. take it easy. P.
  5. hey, Pc 105 lens : 50 - 500 mm * 0.39 = 19.5 - 195 So if you're using your 105 at its widest then I'd say a 20mm would match. Then again luke is right in saying that numbers don't mean much so trying a couple of them in a shop is not a bad idea at all. Later. P. Edited to add: I forgot to take the crop factor of the 350 d in consideration so: 20 divided by 1.6 gives you 12.5 mm which seems extremely wide. (again numbers don't mean much) "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
  6. I really like the way the suit is being marketed as the follow up to the world record holder for distance the s3s... But then go to phoenix fly and you realize that the guys who set the record just got their V1's... oh the irony... P.
  7. And when he says everything, he means it... these guys came down with their own fridge last year... That floored me
  8. Hey, I'll be in atlanta on a business trip, i'll be there for a few days on the third week of this month... question is: shoud I bring my rig ? Anybody out there able to hook me up ? PM me. thanks, P. "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
  9. Well, if it's for skydiving id'say go for the 10-22... (even though there might be better lenses for skydiving) If not then it depends what sort of shots you want to take... I just bought the 100mm because intend to do quite a lot of macro and a few portraits. then again a buddy of mine has the 10-22 so hopefully i'll be able to check it out too... hard to tell you go for this one or the other because i don't know what you want to shoot... take it easy, P. 10. Hey Scott, It is an unusual question in the sense that the two lenses you're talking about are completly different. One is a wide angle, the other one is a macro lens. It's going to depend on what you want to use the lens for. I'm currently waiting on my 100mm and after reading many reviews, I can't wait to start shooting with it. As you said, it's a dedicated macro lens but it can also be used as a proper portrait lens. Its use in skydiving is going to be very limited, in my opinion. On the other side, the 10-22 mm from canon or the sigma are both used by quite of few jumpers... All of the lenses you mentioned are really good pieces of glass... the question is what do you intend to do with your new lens ? take it easy, P. "Good judgement comes from experience. 11. Where is this event exaclty and what's the easiest way to get there ? thanks, P. "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
  12. Sony DCR PC330 - stills form the video are at 640 * 480 Canon EOS 20D or 350D 3456 x 2304 Just better quality... Simple... Maybe when thay start combining a very good video camera with a 8 or 12 megapixel still camera you'll start seing people changing their setup... P. "Good judgement comes from experience. 13. Dave, Poison of choice would be brandy and god knows we drink a lot of it just to keep ourselves warm in kerry Anyway, this is what I was afraid of... Ha well if it doesn't have gaffer tape on it it's not meant for jumping... Thanks guys, Later. "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
  14. ok, from what I'm reading here one has to take two switches (the actual bite switch and one that fits the plug on the camera), cut them up and stitch them together in order to get a bite switch that works for the 20 D... proabably stupid to ask but has anybody come across an adapter for that ? P. "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
  15. FeelGood Movie is right !! Nice way to start the day... It put me right back in the norvegian spirit ... Good Stuff... Durka Durka Jihad to Ted. Later, P. "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
  16. Hey Chris, Best of luck with the team... Some awesome flying for sure... last videos I saw in august were kicking ass... Have a good one. P. "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
  17. I haven't been in that part of the world for a while but Elsinore always has at least three or four birds at any given weekend. There used to be a crowd going down to san diego to flock over the lake... great scenery... I'm sure Perris has a few birds too. As for events i'd say just check out their websites. Later, P. 18. I did the course in norway too and i have to say that it's not a proper FJC in my opinion... What you get is a brief for that specific spot... A FJC at the bridge would be a lot better in terms of preparing you for the rest of your base jumping career... Haviong said that, the course i got in norway was good... you have to love that pendulator :) P. "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
  19. Hey jont thanks for the reply... WB: Have you tried using the sunny day setting ? any difference ? this helps a lot... thanks. P. "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
  20. Anybody jumping this setup ? What settings do you use ? full manual, auto ? Iso ? WB ? Exposure Bracketing ? Drive mode ? thanks, P. "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
  21. I also did my first jump at the cliff... I loved every minute of it because everything went right... now switching to the "do what i say don't do what i do" phase: If something was to go wrong on your first few jumps, I'm guessing that the span with very little surface to hit and some water underneath would be a hell of a lot better. Sure you can go to a big wall, do your first few jumps there and survive. But you should try to reduce the risks as much as you can. I was told that before you decide to jump you should think of everything that could go wrong and see if you feel ok to deal with every situation. Being on a bridge sure reduces the amount of things to think about... Tom, Brandy it is then... Later, P. "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
  22. Hey Kieran, Congrats on the first few jumps ! Beer Beer Beer Patrice. "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
