haha... "at monarti"... I wish, most probably Im zooming forward with my hips bent. Again as I said, a good challenge
-
Head down certainly doesnt seem like something you just 'get right' straight away... One of the main ways Ive been told to get good at it (if you aint got any tunnels near by) is to jump, jump and jump. Obviously if you got someone good at it to hold you in place thats also an advantage Im nowhere near getting it right yet although the solos are lots of fun and amusing- almost feels like I bend my hips too much and go 'at monarti'... Thats when a transition into a sit becomes a relief...

Leave a copy in the video shop for me!

Thanks all so much for some great tips. The 'firing a pistol' method has already shown a big improvement...Im getting a much steadier shot. Oh and thanx to the canopy pilots who are giving me the material to work with!
-
Great thanks, The filming Ive been doing has been handheld (I have a small / light camera) and I have been getting the whole swoop and ducking on a few occasions
-
Lekker lekker! Thanx Peej

Hi there, Im may have needed to post this query in photography but was wondering if anyone can give me some good tips/advice on filming swooping. Im planning to get some great footage of canopy pilots/competitors and would love any tips from those who have managed to acquire this skill or have learnt from those who have? I have a broadcast quality camcorder and a tripod as my starting blocks... Id be very gratefull for any tricks of the trade

Thanks I'll definately go and look for better options and find the right type I love the fact that skydiving is helping me find the right contact lenses - gonna be fun explaining the observations to my whuffo eye doctor

I have this new habit of loosing my contact lenses in freefall. It doesn't necessarily matter what discipline Im doing, flat or feelying, I get this blurred vision/moment at some stage in the skydive and then voila - its gone. Initially I thought the skygods may be blind and really need them but after loosing at least 4 pairs in the last 3 months (they're monthly pairs) Im beginning to think not. I have my goggles so tight its illegal and am starting to land a little lop-sided due to being able to see out of one eye and sometimes neither. Im not that badly short-sighted, only -1.5, but on landing my distance sight is needed. Does or has anyone else had this problem?

Just a greeting to everyone as I have recently entered the new exciting and fascinating world of skydiving. I have my last 3 solo jumps of AFF left to do and thanks to a talented friend who got me involved, one very wise instructor and all the amazing people who jump out of planes, I'm hopefully here to stay. Looking forward to lots of informative posts, my mind is like a sponge and I'm addicted to this sport and all that and who make it up
