There is no such thing. Democracy runs on the concept of a majority rule. When the majority of the people can vote for one candidate, yet another candidate wins the election, with less votes......it is impossible to call that a democracy. Wrong...democracy is government by the people, especially rule of the majority, not majority rule. We have majority rule in electoral precents. However, to preclude a heavily populated area such as NYC or the greater LA area having an undue influence on the rest of America, the founders decided an electoral process would be a better way to elect the President. If that weren't the case, you'd have 3 states exclusively deciding every election. So, in our instance we are a Federal Republic based on democracy. Well, that is fine except in the instance where you cannot get away from the message, or when it incurs an undue burgeon (security or financial) on the persons or agency the "free speech" is near or directed at. For example, do these people have the right to assemble and block the entrance to a business that isn't the target of their concern? I don't think getting approval limits a person's ability...it simply informs the city so they can take adequate precautions to ensure your freedom of speech doesn't trample on mine, or affect the operation of local government (yes I know, don't go there). Think about the number of signs/billboards that would go up if that were the case. Hey Eric, nice way to stir up the pot. Will I see you at the WFFC? r/Jamie No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit!

The argument for Gold Coast gets a point. No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit! -
Gold Coast or West Tennessee Skydiving for Memorial Day
jazzjumper replied to jazzjumper's topic in Events & Places to Jump
See, when you put it that way, my old stomping ground sounds pretty good. But thanks for the info. I've got directions printed to both places...I'll make my decision on the road Friday morning (just depends on my mood.) I need to get out to more new DZs anyway. r/J No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit! -
Gold Coast or West Tennessee Skydiving for Memorial Day
jazzjumper replied to jazzjumper's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Hey jumpers, I have the opportunity to go to either of these places for the weekend. I know Gold Coast (did my training there). So I need to know about W Tenn. Obviously, Mike Mullins (nor his plane) needs no intro. I'm interested in the actual DZ. How many bunks in the bunk house? What is the vibe? How many loads can a fun jumper reasonably get on in a day (packing for themselves). Can anyone who has been both places compare and contrast? Thanks! r/Jamie No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit! -
I've owned a Rawa for almost a year, and I love my Cam-eye. I flew it for a few weeks without one, and missed a few shots (turned off instead of on.) I've mounted mine in the back, just behind the flat top (drilled a hole.) Everything is internal, and it's simply awesome (especially since I had to use NO tape.) Want a pic? PM me. Winter Jumping at Skydive Green County
jazzjumper replied to jazzjumper's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Well, I don't know if Jerry (who works for SSK) will be able to come out. He has the plane. Let me check. r/Jamie No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit! -

Too bad for you then, you'll miss out on keeping the girls warm after the jump. We fly an Otter now, but frankly our Westwind was even warmer (the Otter is quite comfy) and gets to altitude faster. We get snow, rain, cold, etc...but these kids so want to jump, and we so need to keep them (and ourselves) current. I absolutely love the idea of doing one or two jumps...just to be with them all again. -

We do have an Otter for the winter season here in Xenia, and we are finding good enough weather to get loads. I manage the mailing list that keeps everyone in the loop on weekend activities. If you are a victim of a dropzone that closes down during the winter and are in OH, IN, KY (or anywhere else and you'd like to travel), let me know. I'm happy to put you on the list. We actually got a few loads together this weekend, and we only need 8 jumpers to fly the Otter. Our Otter has great bench seats, is very comfortable and warm on the quick ride (for a standard Otter) to altitude. It's only cold for a few seconds, and a small price to pay for winter jumping. What are you waiting for? Contact me to add you to our winter jumping mailing list! r/Jamie No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit! -
Ideas Needed For 100th Jump
jazzjumper replied to WayneRATS's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well, you want it to be successful right? Do you have a big plane? If so, chuck a 4-way out and have more chase. Then get at least an 8-way round. Then take the center slot and have them close the round...get video! And, oh, BTW...live to watch the video. No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit! -
Yup Phree, it is much better (now). But, the Bear has it's engines pulled. The next time we see her, she'll be sporting a new pair of 27s! BTW, my HD crashed on Friday...I need your e-mail (again!) PM or home me. No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit!

They will begin the update when they officially set the date. Look here at the calendar, this forum, in Skydiving Magazine and Parachutist. If it's happening, chances are it will be listed in one of those.

Hey all you Skydive Green County jumpers, I was out today (little chilly) and had three very nice jumps. The surface temps were 44 degrees, winds were 3-5 kts on the ground. Good gloves made it pretty much comfortable. Spoke with the boss, and we will have the Great Barrier Otter stationed here for the entire winter!!!! (I guess lobbying the boss's boss worked.) The bird was going to be parked anyway, so it might as well be parked here. Oh yeah, and a pilot fell in to our laps as well. Okay, in order to make this bird fly, we need 8 jumpers to make it happen. Due to the cold, the plane will fly from noon until sunset on days where at least 8 jumpers are present. So, here is what I propose. We should have everyone who is interested in jumping send me a pm and give me your normal e-mail address. I'll watch the weather each week and send out updates (unless Joe takes that over.) Well try to get at least 2 jump days in each month (or more if there is good interest.) If we get a mild winter, this could be good for all of us, esp those low time jumpers who need to keep current. If we only get a day or two per month, hey we keep current. Okay, now it's up to all my SGC friends! We have a great aircraft for the winter (nice seats, good door, decent ascent speed, smiley pilot). Let's jump this winter!!! Remember, send me your e-mail! r/Jamie

Hey Banana! Check out Patagonia's line of sky underthings. I use their trademark caprilene...best stuff on early. I've skiied in -20 with it, wicks sweat away if you get warm packing. It's better than polypro...but then again, you pay a bit for it as well...but I've had my two pairs for more that 10 years, and they don't wear out. http://www.patagonia.com/store/womens/underwear.shtml No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit!

You let me know where I can get a vector3 and a sillouhette NEW for 1k each. (besides RWS contest) and I will open a gear store of my own. Read the quote...I was just supposing you could get them for 1k each to make a point about purchase price. No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit!

Hard to say what a good price is anymore. Think of it this way, a complete rig with 20 jumps. If you were to try to buy the components new (Container, Main, Reserve, and Cypress) and you could get each for 1k, and the reserve for 750, then you are talking $3750. That isn't terribly realistic for a brand new rig. It is however realistic for a rig with 20 jumps. Do some research here, the enclave, and other places that sell complete rigs. I bought my Cypress (1) for around $825. The Cypress IIs are around $1,200. Used originals are also an option, but beware of battery (2-year) and 4-year checks. These can significantly increase your cost. Also, the lifespan on a Cypress is just over 12 years (I believe.) Cypress IIs seem a bit better, only 4 year maintenance cycles. There is also a new AAD called the Vigil (I believe). Costs less and claims to be every bit as good as the Cypress II. Do research....good luck. I started attempting sits at around 75 jumps or so, but I still spent at least 3/4 time on my belly. Now I've got a rock solid sit and stand, I'm still a respectable belly flyer (460+jumps). Next year starts head down (with a start in the Sky Venture Tunnel.) You can start any type of skydiving at any level. Just remember that the foundations built now will support you through the rest of your skydiving career. Since you (usually) pull from the belly position, it only makes sense that it should be the most stable and easy to get to position in your toolkit in the worst situation. My philosophy was to start with a sit, and when I could dock at will, fly fast and slow, I would move to a stand (which I did.) That is pretty much under control as well, so it's time to get inverted. Since my sit and stand are good, if I get wobbly, I can transition without screwing up the fall rate (i.e. corking). Be safe... No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit!

Clint, The Lip Trix folks own an awesome board shop, I think in St. George. Here is their web site... http://www.liptrix.com/ Send them a line on your DZ, they are a cool group to have around. Just add altitude and they will come out to play! r/Jamie No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit!
