  1. Went to the dropzone with only my hop-n-pop left to do on my yellow A card. Went up on the first load, looked out the door and thought 'Hey, the clouds are right there !" Went out, loads of fun, got my A signed off, and the rest of the day is for celebrating! Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
  2. Regardless of who pays, at least the student is there to tell the tale. Props to the the training !!! Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
  3. Go for it. Just remember the "relax" sign, get out there, get stable, relax, and play. Blue skies. Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
  4. Congratulations !!! It only get's better from here. Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
  5. The view is awesome, the people are laid back and cool. Their professionalism and the way they make everyone feel like family is great. I have made them my home DZ.
  6. Definitely the King Air. Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
  7. My father passed away at 48 in 1993 from pancreatic cancer. I told my wife about your group. She just did her first tandem 2 weeks ago with video and we jumped the same load, awesome. She's interested in your group, can you send us some info off forum ? Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
  8. To all fellow Florida skydivers, Let us all pray to the sky god's and will this weather away!!! Is that spiders crawling on me or is it the DT's ? I'm almost desperate enough to hit the I-Drive wind tunnel. Blue skies please... please..... Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
  9. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and advice. As a young pattawon I thank you Jedi. Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
  10. I just purchased the rig and was having the reserve re-packed and the main inspected. When it came out of the bag it looked like it had been just stuffed in and stored badly. While in great condition, it's just really wrinkled. Does this really matter ? Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
  11. Does anyone know a good method for getting the wrinkles out of a chute that has been in the bag awhile ? Any help would be appreciated. Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
  12. Last year at 36 I did my first tandem. This year in June at 37 I started my AFF, graduated in a month, and am working on my A. My wife just did her first tandem today for her birthday and it was a blast to be able to be on the same jump load with her. Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
  13. Thanks for the link to skydiving movies. Didn't know about that one. There's some great stuff there. My wife is doing her first tandem Sunday. I'm really enjoying watching her watch some of those videos !! Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
  14. You're all insane, and I greatly respect that. Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
  15. Did my first summersault out the door today. Cool.
  16. Hi. With me even though I passed all my AFF levels the first time, if I got a hand signal it was always ARCH. All of my shakiness and stability problems felt better when I really felt that relaxed arch and managed to keep it in my head. As for under canopy, remember you square, stable, slider, and steerable, stay out of the clouds, get a feel for flying, and don't forget to smile. Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
  17. Congratulations !! I recently graduated AFF. It was the best experience of my life. I'm working on my Class A and should be done in 2 weeks. Jump often, and jump safe. Blue skies !!! Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
  18. I did my first tandem at Skydive Space Center in Titusville, my homw DZ. It was from 18,000 the highest in Florida. That was paying extra. The normal tandem and fun jumper altitude is 15,000. They pull at 4500 for tandems. And we have that wonderful King Air, damn I'm spoiled. Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
  19. As a recent AFF graduate working on my A, like every other newbie ran straight to dropzone.com. I got familiar with the greetings forum, the went to general discussions. I posted a question the other week about full face helmets vs. open face. The reply was that this topic had been discussed MANY times and to SEARCH the topic and save the bandwidth for real discussions. At first I felt upset, but then I realized they were right and I learned a lesson about the search function. So I pass this lesson on to all us newbies,, there is a wealth of knowledge in the search function, but sometimes it's just nice to talk to someone in the sport even if it's repetative.Blue skies!!!!
  20. Thanks and my apologies to all. Ordinary's..... just not good enough today.
