lol...I agree. If you're already feeling convicted about it, just go to church and spend time with your parents. Can you just go skydiving another day or after church? I reserve Saturdays or Sunday late afternoons to do what I want. Sundays mornings I go to church. Sometimes if I don't go on Sundays, I go Saturday nights or Wednesday evenings. I used to get pissed at my parents because they wanted me home more often but then I realized if I tried to imagine Myself in their shoes, it’s because they miss me and want to see me more because they love me. You don’t ever know when your last days are and you have to take advantage of all the time you can to spend with those who loves you. Just imagine if you have your own kids, how would you feel. If spending some time with your parents on Sundays at church makes them happy, try to make them happy…they probably also want to make sure you go to Heaven too. ---------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------- If you want to see the rainbow, you gotta put up with the storm. I don't know what to say.... I think if you pay off your credit card you'll feel better because you know you're being responsible. And....you won't have to worry about people calling the house at odd times in the day looking for payment. The craziest advice I ever got is from my writer friend who got his Ph.D from Harvard. He suggested I do what he did, get a ton of student loans, charge everything on credit and file for bankruptcy before 30 because it won't look so bad because of the "student" status years. When I can, I take a long drive usually toward the country where there's not too many cars and crank up the radio really loud in my car or just open the windows and let the wind blow through. Other times, I go to Cold Stone Creamery and order myself a big bowl of banana icecream mixed with rasberry and butterfinger. Also, I volunteer teaching Sunday school to 1 and 2 years old. Congratulations to you! I've been at my job for almost 6 years and I've been wanting to quit after the 2nd year but I just don't have enough courage to do it....I'm tired of it. I have about 6 weeks of vacation and 3 weeks of sick time that I rarely use. I think sometimes, we need to surrender our doubts and just try the Lord for a change. Just try and see for yourself. It's like judging a book by it's cover without even first reading what's in it. (And even though you have read the bible, your heart is too harden to want to understand it. There is a difference between reading and understanding). At least it's better to believe in something rather than nothing? If I die tomorrow, I at least know the security of Heaven and "if" it does not exist, at least I am more safe than sorry. It's like wearing a seatbelt in the car even, if I don't get in an accident, that's fine and dandy and if I get in one, at least it will or might save my life. I have never seen God but I know He is as real as the wind. I can't see the wind but I can feel it. I can't see God but I can feel His love in my life. :) Yes, the bible is the Word of God. I'm sorry to hear about your losses. That's why I try to remind myself every day to live life to the fullest, be kind to everyone I meet no matter how bad they treat me because we never know when our last breath will be. I always make it a point to keep in touch with all of my friends. And even when I meet new people, I try to talk to them and encourage them because you never know what a simple smile or encouragement will do. I've known people who were ready to kill themselves or planning to and did not go through with it because someone intervened by listening to them or what not. Even a song on the radio can change people especially when they are very hurt and vulnerable. Everyday is a new day and we have got to make the best out of it. I'll be praying for you and your friend's family. Don't blame yourself EVER.
